Honda fans, hold your 'horses'; Mugen's take on the new Honda CR-Z improves the Japanese hybrid coupe in all areas except the one that probably counts the most for you: Performance...
However, there's still hope as Honda's official tuning arm has made it clear that it is still considering the development of a high-performance version of the CR-Z in the likes of the MUGEN Civic Type Rs, but until we see the car in the flesh, you'll have to do with the firm's new range of go-fast bits.
The dress-up package includes various parts such as front and rear aprons, a large roof-mounted wing, side skirts, rear diffuser and a new grille with LED daytime running lights. Buyers can also choose from a variety of 17-inch alloy wheel designs.
For the interior, Mugen's lineup comprises of additional gauges, a carbon fiber mirror, unique gear lever knobs and floor mats.
Hardware improvements come in the form of a sport exhaust system, air filters, sport suspension and brake packages, as well as an 'intelligent' tire-monitoring system.

Barf at the rear man it looks woeful the rest of the car is quite nice though i won't but 1. Booth bitch.
Exhaust should be centered...
Else it's not *too* bad.
Wow its a smooth. Those bronze wheels.. aint they gorgeous with that metallic white of the car. Mugen...God Bless.
all looks ok except for the exhaust and that stupid rear wing
I agree, the exhaust should fit snugly in the center on the diffuser at the rear... Or maybe two on each side as the Euro civic???
And what's up with th massive rear wing on top of the already high backside? this is still a FWD car ain't it?
LOVE the wheels though!
For twenty years nothing new from mugen, all of their accessories are the same, they never do ant difrent...
tacky add on's to Honda's recreation of the 2-seat Insight which they killed off due to poor sales.
Wait, all this to make a slow car look fast?
Oh boy! Another Mugen rice-mobile. Be still my heart!
Could care less.
My first car was a CRX and I had hoped to re-visit my youth with this new model, but it is nothing like the original and no sports kit is gonna change that.
The mark 1 was a fantastic little death trap with fibreglass front, frame- less doors, a redlining gem of an engine and I loved it. This thing is too heavy, too slow - an affront to the blessed original.

My sentiments exactly. I'm not a fan of Honda, but I know what the CRX was and what it embodied. The CRZ doesn't even come close and is downright insultive to even compare it to the CRX.
If anything, it wasn't the canceling of the CRX all those years ago; it was the launch of the CRZ which was the last nail in the coffin of Honda ever making a comprible car to the CRX. The CRZ proves they can't do it anymore and they've lost their way.
Yeah mate, they lost their way awhile ago.
Honda rocked with the CRX, Prelude, Integra, NSX etc. but then they went to shite. Okay, the Accord Euro (Acura TL) is a decent mid-size but compared to years past, they're a shadow of their former selves. They lost their great small car/coupe mojo.
I always wished they would get more use out of the S2000 platform and give us a RWD CRX!!!
I
I miss the mean look that 90's Honda's used to have. But what's the point in making this CR-Z look faster than it really is? It doesn't look like it really has any potential...
This would be awesome...if I was 17 and it was 1998. What the hell happened to Honda? To Mugen? They were such an awesome *engineering* company with huge promise. Now? They aren't even reliable anymore! It's an empty shell of a brand.
What's going on with Honda nowadays. Except for the civic, all their designs seem to have come from the "Awkward School of Automotive Designs".
Really? It looks like a Target grocery cart with that wing on. The car looks better but that wing has GOT TO GO!
I like it, looks like the cr-x in many ways, and Mugen has come up with a really good fix to the grill. and you know it would not be a Mugen without the wing..... and if it had the s2k platform with 240 hp and rwd & through out the "Green" in the drive train, honda would sell 30k of them here!
Tacky add ons? Probably could customize it your way for that extra $10 thou and make it really cool. I would start with dual exhausts that are symmetrically centered. Then I would remove the Honda logos from it and have a custom paint job. Then it's just a wash on tires, rims, interior, and ground effects.
