Nissan 370Z Coupe Black Edition: 40th Anniversary Special for Europe

|

Having already presented commemorative editions for the Z's 40th birthday both in Japan and the USA, Nissan has now announced a special celebratory version of the 370Z for the European market that will be available from April as a coupe only, and in a limited run of just 370 units.

As its name implies, the Euro-spec 370Z Black Edition comes in two metallic shades black and quartz with both paints using Nissan's Scratch Shield technology that promises to 'heal' the finish in the case of stone chip damage.

The exterior of the 370Z Black can be identified by the dark grey 19-inch forged RAYS wheels that encompass the red brake calipers and the special emblem on the rear hatch.

Inside the special Z gets a red leather and suede appointed interior with embossed 40th Anniversary logo seats, smooth leather wrapped steering wheel with red stitching that's also found on the centre cluster, centre console and knee pads plus the firm's touch-screen satellite navigation and audio system with USB connectivity.

Other than that, the Black Edition features the same 3.7-litre V6 developing 328PS as the standard model offering the 370Z a limited top speed of 250km/h or 155mph and a 0-100km/h (62 mph) time of 5.3 seconds or 5.6 seconds for the 7-speed automatic version.

In the UK, prices for the 370Z Black Edition start from £33,645 for the 6-speed manual and £35,045 for the automatic transmission model.

That's 'Black'?

I will take one with a six speed

Thanks for the 'Z' historical picture album John.

Was just reminiscing the other day about my brother and I taking the then new 240Z for a long test drive along the E. & W. valley hwy's(Kent-Puyallup Valley) many years back.

Fun drive with some dicey moments when my brother got it sideways at speed coming around a corner that was wet on it's exit from a farmer's sprinklers. Same corner that a few years earlier I got my Spitfire sideways for the same reason with him as an interested witness. Both times gave us pause for thought as our Dad was killed in new Red TR-3 in a similar accident while his brother was driving. They had owned the car less then 24 hours. My Spitfire was the same Triumph red.

This 370z has been launched just a few weeks back in India and the test riders all over have been really impressed. This BMW z4 has been the favourite sport car (excluding the Ferrari and Lamborghini supersports) but after the arrival of 370z it seems it is the best ride and handling sport car. Its synchronized rev match manual transmission experienced for the first time in any car and very reasonable price can make for really good sales.

The term "Black" as in Black Lable Edition on past Bentley models does not always refer to the colour. Bentley also had lesser "Red" and "Green" lable models of the Arnage.
