Photo Galore: 2011 Audi RS5 Coupe 450HP V8

|

Audi is now ready to show us a lot more of its Geneva Motor Show-bound RS5 as the Ingolstadt automaker published a slew of high-resolution images of the high-performance coupe that will take on the BMW M3 and its ilk. Like all RS models, the hottest A5 has been fully developed by Quattro, Audi's in-house performance division.

Under the bonnet of the sleek-looking coupe is a subtly tweaked version of the same naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 engine found in the old RS4 and the R8. In the RS5, the high-revving V8 churns out 450HP at 8,250 rpm along with 430Nm (317.15 lb-ft) of peak torque between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm.

Those ponies are sent to all four-wheels through a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission with Audi announcing a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 4.6 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 250km/h or 155mph. Ridiculous high price would dilute her terrific potential.
I feel truly knocked out by her abusive price of 77000euro. Thus her US-price would be at least twice as much as the Ford Mustang GT 5.0.
In some views,similarly-packaged Ford Mustang GT should be more attractive than this Audi RS5,typical American buyers could say,I can agree with such notion!
In other words,I also respect the cost performance of the newest Ford Mustang 5.0 as a "Maserati GranTurismo pace,Audi RS5 space for VW Scirocco price".

I have no issue with price for such an Audi. For those of us who worked extremely hard all life, raising a family and giving to charity, I am fortunate to say that I will seriously consider buying one as I look to downsize from an aging Bentley GTC.

so the real question now is would i rather get this or an M3 (if i had the money)

i would go for the M3

i would definitely have sex with this car.

I can't believe Audi is still using the aging V8 engine from RS4 which is over 4 years old now. Tweaking it to produce 36hp more and a tad more torque is very dissappointing.

This car will also be priced above the M3 coupe.. I'll take my M3 over this anytime. The only reason I can see myself considering the RS5 is for the 4-wheel drive option, but then again my M3 with snow wheels do just fine in the North East area.

Come on, Mustang has noting to do with this car.
Handling, interior quality, nothing common.
Now price wise, you guys in US don't really know how lucky you are, even a mustang cost 2x the US price in Europe, so maybe it'll go the same(mirrored) way when this RS5 reach US.

anyone noticed that in the interior shots it says RS6 Plus 001/500 :)

Wow...whatever ignorance persuaded you to compare an Audi RS5 to a Ford Mustang, I pray you recognize it and eliminate it from your life.

There is a crystal clear difference in price range, performance level and target market. Posts like this make me angry towards misinformed auto enthusiasts.

Must ... have ... patience ...

Sweet! I just wish Audi would drop the LED running lights. To me, they've always seemed a bit gimmicky.
