BMW Individual's marketing guys were clever enough to drum up this little diddy. It's a brief run-through of one Individual customer's - Mark Carson, a Hawaiian native - experience creating his own unique M6.
Barring the cheesy voice-over done by someone who reminds me of George Takei (is that you, George?), the story and process of integrating Koa wood into BMW's big, Individualized GT is actually pretty interesting.
From interior and exterior personalization to the fact that they need "weeks of testing" to make sure using Koa was even possible, it's four minutes that are most likely worth your time.

At the end of the video, the voice-over says "(M6)the most powerful car you can buy from BMW." Have they already forgotten the new X5M and X6M?

are they "cars"?
I know I have. - Phil
The wood choice matches his skin tone perfectly - nice to know that BMW has everything taken care of for the less discerning customer.
Power as in Horsepower/Weight of car and drag factor.
Testing the koa wood samples meant my sending raw koa veneers to Germany and BMW having their supplier test apply them to production aluminum back plates plus "testing" the non-glossy finish that I requested. The samples were then sent to me for approval before we went any further with the ordering process. And that took almost a couple of months (early Nov 2008 to mid Dec 2008).

Well the X5M and X6M have a V8 engine the M6 has a V10 so no they wouldn,t be as powerfull
Why not the cabrio? It's Hawaii!

umm... more torque, the M6 with 383 ft-lbs and the X5M with 500, and more horsepower, the M6 with 500 and the X5M with 555, so they are more powerful. Mark Carson may be right with horsepower to weight, but in specs, it does have more power
I don't know if I would want to spend 100K more just to get an interior and exterior a different color than already offered. But, hey, if you got it to spend, more power to ya.
