Lexus LFA Special Edition Officially Revealed - As if this NEEDED to Happen... [High-Res Photos]

|

Lexus feels the need to release a sub-model of its LFA. As if the car needs any more attention drummed up; enough people are drooling over this piece of engineering arrogance as it is.

Officially referenced as the SPECIAL EDITION in the press release , it'll be available in Black, Matte Black, "Whitest White", or Orange.

The LFA SE will come with canards and a fixed wing in CFRP (carbon fiber reinforced polymer); you know, to make it more unique than the other $375,000 Lexus down the street. Also, they'll apparently help at the track aerodynamically.

Power is said to get a boost from 560 to 570 horsepower (ECU work, most likely), and the suspension is "high-power-only", whatever that means. The Special Edition's SWs (special wheels) will be shod in grippy rubber (Haiguripputaiya), which should help get the power to the ground through the re-calibrated transmission.

Whereas a regular LFA's shift speed on a track day would be around 0.2 seconds, an SE owner's rack day will get done just a hair quicker at 0.15 seconds.

There's no word yet on pricing...this is the point where clever people would usually put "If you have to ask...", but I'm not clever, I'm realistic. You just can't afford it. That, or you don't live in the right area with the right roads.

lexus discriminates. they don't want black people to drive the lfa.

I find the design of the front end of this car old... extremely old. Like it is a design from 10 years ago...!

Hi all car entusiasts! :)
We are some students who currently are doing a study of car enthusiast’s perceptions of Scandinavian Design. It only takes 2 minutes to answer and we would really appreciate if you could answer. Thanks!

Yes only orange people will drive it (being sarcastic) if you know what that means. (-:

Lol, two black shades vs only one white shade. If it is a sarcastic joke it's not that good, but if your serious, let me tell you that your a huge idiot, racist and lame ass. Racist blacks like you make a bad name for the black people. Go back to your hood.

Oh...tangy LFA... If it is priced affordably...it could give GTR a run for its money...

GT-R clone.

No, but given how lexus wants to vault the lfa to such overinflated levels (largely by picking who can and cannot own an lfa and if they will use it rather than store it), you'll be hard pressed to find any black person in an lfa.

As much as I appreciate the technical prowess and amazing performance of the LFA - - visually, it often just hits me like a big Celica with scoops and spoilers all over it.
Europes best styling efforts are simply not threatened.

High-tech boring car.

Well, not many people(black or white) have the money to buy one of this, 50 Cent, P Diddy or Tiger Woods don't have the taste to get it, they will drive some huge SUV, with 25 inch bling rims and a lot of chrome or a chromed Lambo. But I can see Will Smith in an LFA, if he wants to get one.

"But I can see Will Smith in an LFA, if he wants to get one."

Even so, Lexus wants to be thought of something more than warmned over toyotas, so they pick who drives their cars, not the other way around.

That is discrimintory.

They won't refuse him, some car makers even pay stars to drive their cars. And Ferrari picked their buyers for the Enzo, Aston will do the same for the One-77 and there are a lot of other examples. Special cars always get this treatment.

Well then you ask the real question: 'what does the lfa have to offer?'

Also, the badge: 'I don't want the Ferrari, or the Aston Martin. I'll have the Lexus'.

Lexus is hoping idiots walk into their dealership to want this car...idiots who didn't choose a better car in the first place.

Poor car. Like if a bad plastic surgeon ruined its face. The concept was lovely, but I still can't get over the mistake they made on a production car's face.

Reg; "piece of engineering arrogance"

Phil, what audacity caused you to raise specious objection to the LFA's prodigious capabilities?

Seems the 'arrogance' lies in your comment.

Since you don't engage, my comment is pointed, but mute.

Reminds me a 90's supra. There are hand full of other high end cars I'd choose over this and I don't think I'll be alone on that.

I am just reading over the comments of some these dolts and i'm like go back to your tool boxes. This is the best car one will ever drive. Go figure. If you can that is.
