Earlier today, we showed you a bevy of pictures of the Beijing Automotive Works' (BAW) Saab 9-3-based C60 mid-size sedan. Now we have the first photos of the Chinese firm's reworked Saab 9-5, the C71 saloon, as well as a video showing both cars as they were being transferred to BAW's Beijing Motor Show stand.
As with the smaller C60, the most notable differences between the C71 and its Saab stablemate concern the styling of the front and rear ends.
As a reminder, in late 2009, BAW's parent company BAIC brought the design rights for the previous generation Saab 9-5 and certain 9-3 models along with some powertrain technology and tooling equipment from GM for about $200 million.
Both the BAW C60 and C71 are pegged to go on sale in China early next year.

Well it looks better than the pic, but it still looks like a pretty bad facelift.. The front is kinda cool, but its too 'swooshy' compared to the middle part... Looks best in the side on view.. At the very least, it will probably be the safest chinese car ever built!!
he's look so bad (((
IT LOOKS SO BAD, not "he's look so bad"
English, people, English!
The Chinese has a (very) long way to designing premium cars such as the rehashed 9-5... build quality and safety...well...
It will be a "long march"...
the crazy thing about it is that i think it actually look a little better than the original. Than that just me, so don't take my word for it. Just open a book.

the good thing is the car is not toned down for production, they actually produce what the concept looks like.
Hmmmm, Volt headlights, Camry grill, Audi lower front bumper, Mondeo/Audi taillights, old model Saab doors, Scoda bonnet, with a touch of Suzuki Vitara thrown in to the side profile of the bonnet........Have I missed anything?
Looks like a Toyota Venza/Camry...pass
Not a pretty sight
I approve....the two blond girls in the last photo!! lol
It seems to be a car looking for a style. There's too many styling ideas for one car. The front end (futuristic/sporty?) tries to blend in with more conservative back, especially with the squared off greenhouse and a rear end that looks like more of an economy car. They started out ok with the front and then lost the styling concept as they went on. Not a good look for Saab which seemed to be going more upscale in recent years.
Old school SAAB 9-5 R.I.P. !!! :-(
a great piece of...

You need glasses. That, or stop looking for things that just are not there.
i love the english comment above better than the car! so true... the reading and writing level in the states in deplorable!
You work hard for your money - would you really spend it on this to drive around in ? That's what Asian designers generally dont get - every car has to look like it came out of an ANIME movie. Seriously how stupid do you have to be to screw up the SAAB 9-5 ?
hah, these chinees restylers Bounty Hunters big fans :)
i pizdec SAABu prochel! Kosie vse k xuyam obosrut
A toyota camry went horrible wrong
those rims looks like plastic
Yoicks, I am Chinese and this thing sure look ugly. Look at the picture, all the people in it have thier backs to it. Needs an european designer to update the whole look.

Yes. Who introduced these features first? In many cases it was SAAB.
