25-year-old Chen Jinmiao from China is a mechanic and likes Lamborghinis. In fact he likes them A LOT. But he couldn't afford one (yet), so he decided to build his own - or at least one that vaguely resembles Sant'Agata's "Raging Bull" models.
For about $3,000 (US) in parts and a year's worth of time, Chen created a very-Lego Lamborghini that has a top speed of 60 mph (or 90, depending on who you trust). No word on the power source, but somehow I'm thinking an engine slightly smaller than a V12.
Perfect? Hardly. However, he DID built it from the ground up, which deserves a pat on the back.
If anyone's going to be around Chenzhou City, China, keep an eye out for it.

the beginning of the chinese kit car industry
I bet they called it Lanborghini :)
copying is in the chinese blood.
"copying is in the chinese blood."
What?! Really? How did it get in the blood?
All humans copy. The Europeans and others copied lots of Chinese inventions. That's how it works.
This looks like a pretty good project to me.
What size mattress fits in this thing? I want one for my son's bedroom.
yea.... Copying in the Chinese blood... look at their fake Mini Cooper, fake Mazda 2, fake Toyota Hiace, fake Toyota Hilux.....
ages ago, Chinese were great inventors, they invented fireworks... but now, they suck!!
No sane person could possibly say that this car is a 'copy' of anything, it looks like a sporty brick.
Other than the 'scissor' doors, which have been used by the tuning industry for years, it looks pretty original to me...
It looks nothing like a Lamborghini so you can't say he's copied one, he has just used them as inspiration for his own creation. Good luck to him for making something entirely his own. I hope he lands himself a job with a good automotive or engineering company.
Hey this kid is just building his dream, his passion and love for a particular car and you guys go for his case. He deserves kudos.
And to the subject of copying:
Most of the modern world is based on the Inventions, technologies, education, knowledge, engineering feats from China and India and some from middle east. Not only fireworks as one anon above me suggests and tries to be funny. This space is not enough to explain all that.
The Industrial revolution in Europe was accepted with open arms every where else. Thats how we move forward learning from one another.
If this is his idea of what a Lambo looks like???
This dude should build himself some glasses. I dont care if he built it for 30 bucks, hell I spent 3000 on my car over the winter maybe we should feature it on here as well, if it makes you feel better i will tell you i thinks it is an exact replica of a Ferrari Daytona.
Copy? So what? A single chinese young man can build a car on his own, what have we done last year?..
Designed with a ruler, I like it...
Shame the wheels dont match

But remember kids, you can't live off past glories forever.
Building a car sounds like a lot of fun to me
That one doesn't look that bad, if it was my creation I would be proud
I d hate to have a crash in this thing
Give the guy some proper tools, and equipment, I m sure he`ll come out with a life sized Lego car
Too expensive
At least he builds a car himself, that is more than any one can ever do on this forum.
"But remember kids, you can't live off past glories forever"
Hey don't you know whats happening, oh forgot., you live in a 200 hectare Texas farm or maybe up in Alas!ka.
Next week I'm building an Cherry QQ3 it will have a 30 hp honda lawnmower engine tuned by varth expect 32hp will go some no, tell me what you think.
better than any of these posers http://www.jimmy540i.com/bmwnightmare.htm
Can't believe some of the comments here. Look closely at that thing. Anyone who hase attempted to build a car knows how much patience and hard work it takes. And it looks like everything in that car was fabricated. I just wonder if it is street legal there in China? Perhaps it is if it it has a small enough displacement. As someone mentioned above, hope he lands a job in auto design. Make fun of him all you want but this is the sort of thing (project) that lands a good job.
I think this is cool that he built a car maybe not to everyones liking. But I don't understand some of the critism especially if you havent done this type of project. I assume that every one who comes to this site is a car nut.I don't think some of you people realise how hard fabricating can be at times. It's not just welding metal together and there it is. A project like is has to withstand the weight and other factors like if the frame isn't strong enough the torque from the engine will twist the frame. Don't talk crap If you don't understand engineering and fabrication.
For all the people who sit behind the computer and criticize him for "copying", why don't you do hat he has done! Im sure he has a fraction of the resources you have available, so if you can't do what he has done, please shut the hell up and appreciate his accomplishment.
Ah... the entrepreneur spirit to discover, got inspired and build a car the man dreams of... At least, he put his soul into making it... Perhaps this kit-car can serve as his 'mobile resume' in pursuing his dreams in the auto-business...
I think u guys(maybe girls from the way u complain)should shut the hell up and cut the kid some fcking slack. Id like to see "replica of a Ferrari Daytona" build something like that! u guys talk so much sht and complain like a girl on her period. I bet u guys wouldn't even know how to build something like that even with the blue prints and the proper tools in front of u! u guys are stupid as hell!
This kid should get all the credit in the world. Kids his age here pass out drunk on peoples lawns in pink tutu's with duct tape all over them, this guy actually built a car! It's his passion, and nobody should stop him from it if he's that commited. People that buy Fieros, or other cars and add parts from pep-boys are nowhere near what this guys done. Kudos on the car buddy.
Awesome. Lambo needs to give this guy an internship and pony up for some wheels! Maybe even a powertrain for another project. You rock Chen.
Nice job! This is not copying, this is creativity!
He's got his own unique car now, do you have one?
Italian sportbox car..:D
