Still not convinced that Land Rover is marketing the new Evoque (click here for pictures and a video from the presentation) as a hip crossover - even after learning about Victoria Beckham's involvement in the project? Then these photos should do the trick.
What you see here are 10 special prototype versions of the 'baby' Range Rover wrapped in trendy camouflage with each vehicle saying 'Hello' to one of the following cities: London, New York, Sao Paulo, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Berlin, Sydney, Shanghai and Moscow. The imagery on each prototype is actually a GPS mapping trail of the city it represents.
Land Rover plans to use these special test cars around the world to drum up interest in the Evoque that goes on sale in summer of 2011.
Promotional tactics aside, Land Rover's engineers are evaluating hundreds of real test mules in various climates and conditions. "The development stage is crucial in the year leading up to launching the car," said Murray Dietsch, director of Land Rover programmes. "No stone is left unturned; we have a team of experienced and skilled engineers who will work to a tight schedule to ensure we have a top quality vehicle to offer our customers."
According to the automaker, more than 17,000 individual tests will be performed on all components and systems of the Evoque before the compact crossover enters series production.

The more I look at this "evoking" LR Evoque marketing stunt... the more I thought of a similar portrayal to another hip SUV... the KIA Soul
Only a 2 door? reminds me of the failed HR-V from Honda..
