2011MY Jeep Compass Facelift Priced from $19,295*, or Nearly $4,000 More than the 2010MY

|

The Grand Cherokee-like nose job and the upgraded standard equipment have had a negative impact on the 2011 Jeep Compass' sticker price as the refreshed crossover model will reach showrooms next month with a starting price of $19,295, not including a (*) $700 destination fee. That's close to $4,000 more than the pre-facelift 2010MY Compass, which retailed for $15,365.

However, the base version of the 2011MY Compass does come equipped with more standard features than the outgoing model including air conditioning, power windows and locks, heated power side mirrors, keyless entry, fog lamps, cruise control and tinted glass, all of which were absent on the entry-level 2010MY Compass.

The cosmetically and mechanically updated Jeep model will be offered in three trim levels, including the higher grade Latitude, which adds a CVT, heated front seats and a leather steering wheel for $21,595 (plus destination fee), and the Limited, which is powered by a 172HP 2.4-liter four-pot and starts from $24,295 (plus destination fee).

The base and Latitude trim models are offered with a 158HP 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

More details on specs in the list below.

The thing that makes this so ugly is that it look's like a Cherokee with a distorted shape

Awkward. Is it done growing yet?

I prefer the round headlights of the 2010 model.

Flat out not good looking. So awkward. Like A Christmas sweater with wheels. Add to that what will most likely be questionable reliability and plummeting resale value . . . and I'd say we American folk will flock to it in droves.

I would guess that most MY2010 Compass sales went out the door around $19,000 since most people expect things like A/C, power windows, etc in their vehicles. I thought it never made much sense having the Patriot and Compass at the same price point. Now that the Compass has the more upscale look of the Grand Cherokee, it seems most logical to move it a bit upmarket and let the more rugged-looking Patriot be sold at the entry level $15,000 price point. Good to see the Italians sorting out the marketing blunders instituted by Daimler.

I like this new face but yea it does looks odd on the body. Still as a driver of a 2005 dodge ram pick up with 378000 miles on the clock I hope to see Chrysler make a turn for the better. I might buy a 2010 jeep compass if I can get a good deal on it. My wifes 2008 toyota corrola is nothing but junk with just 42000 miles and that rice burner has been off the road for so many dumb recalls that slip past toyoat and you fools want to bad mouth Chryler! I'll take my dodge ram any day over a rice burner from the japs.

The exterior is a hit and miss but the interior is solid.
