2011 Chrysler 300: New Gallery with 23 High Res Photos

|

It's taken a while, but we finally got our hands on a collection of photos of the 2011 Chrysler 300 sedan that we can share with you. Set to have its world premiere at next month's Detroit Motor Show, Chrysler's flagship sedan is expected to go on sale in the States around spring of 2011, while there has also been talk about a Lancia-badged version named Thema, which could be revealed in Europe towards the end of next year.

Chrysler has yet to release official info on the redesigned 300, however, the powertrain lineup is expected to be similar to its Dodge Charger twin, offering buyers the option of a new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or the 5.7-liter V8 Hemi, as well as the choice of rear- or all-wheel drive.

In terms of the exterior design, out goes the bad boy / gangster look of the first generation model, and in comes a more elegant, almost Buick / Lincoln-like styling approach with far more softer lines and heaps of chrome trim.

We don't have many official pictures of the interior yet, but from the various shots that have made their way onto the internet (see here), the cabin appears to have been redesigned from the ground up, featuring a more luxurious and upscale, but somewhat conservative, appearance.

Art on wheels. Spectacular.

I wanted to hate it but I just can't. Some great angles. All in all, a good evolution.

Love it, but cannot wait to see it in other colours.

Already two generations behind its competition.

Quintessential American luxury and it has a Hemi-V8 ;0)

yummy. i agree with the others. this is a critical car for the u.s., chrysler & in the field of large luxury sports sedans. perfect in everyone.

Was not a fan until now. Loved the Sonata until I drove one. This will be my next car for certain.

Mark@W said... »December 20, 2010

Ewwwwwwww. Old man's car. What happened to the 'mascu-lines' of the 300?

Anonymous said... »December 20, 2010

Design from Europe, exactly from FIAT designers.

Abe said... »December 20, 2010

This thing looks geriatrically awful. Period. I'll keep my old 300 thank you.

But it's still a Chrysler. Sure they make great looking vehicles, but their vehicles do not show longevity on the road. It is very rare to see a Neon, Sebring, Grand Cherokee, ect. Either they are getting wrecked more than any other cars or they are breaking down quicker.

The last generation of this car was awesome and manly, but this one seems to me mix of many cars on one car. I don't like that.

Anonymous said... »December 20, 2010

I like it, the last one looked scrappy and cheap.

Anonymous said... »December 20, 2010

Fantastic - most American sedans are hopeless, but this is more like it! A Lancia version however....

Another stop gap for chysler.

it doesnt look Boring, but it doesnt look great either...i just hope the Engine is good...a Massive 6.7 liter that better produce more than horsepower than an evo's 2 liter engine..

Anonymous said... »December 20, 2010

why the chrome on the tailights. why.

Anonymous said... »December 20, 2010

the grill so annoying !

emjayay said... »December 20, 2010

Definitely a lot of Rolls Royce/Bentleyesqness to it, and incredibly well styled. I would have dialed back the cartoonishness about 20% however.

looks great from every angle..sure there are a few posters here saying they hate it but then again thats what they were told to feel about GM or Chrysler american car on fox news cable~I never listen to blind sheep before and I don't plan to now either...this is a great car for america and the style is so graceful~ good work chrysler~

So...who's gonna be the first one to put huge rims and lambo doors on it?

Neinfectat De Comunism said... »December 21, 2010

-crisp and angular from some angles - good
-hyundai grille - bad
overall - good for u.s., for the rest of the world, boring

Anonymous said... »December 21, 2010

Chrysler Marketing - Good..... Not. Predictable.
Car - Bad....yes bad. Marvel comic cartoon bad.

Anonymous said... »December 21, 2010

Nice, but I prefer the "gangsta" look of the previous generation. As one poster above said, "Ewww, old man's car". If I wanted an old Lincoln, I would buy an old Lincoln.

Anonymous said... »December 21, 2010

Hopefully they'll de-chrome the SRT version and give it a more aggressive grille (and get rid of the chrome on the tailights).

Anonymous said... »December 21, 2010

Instead of a blank slate, seems like they just tried to refine the old look. And unfortunately, it looks like there were too many disparate designers in on the project. While the old design looked all "of a piece," this one looks jumbled, & looks to me like a bad cross between the old design & a Cadillac CTS. I am glad they improved the outward visibility, & I am sure the interior is better, but from an external design perspective, it's awkward & disappointing.

Anonymous said... »December 21, 2010

One poster called it a bad cross between a CTS & a 2010 Chrysler 300. Is that possible? To cross two such iconic and excellent designs and come up with something worse? Well if THIS is the result--apparently NOT.

It just doesn't get any better than THIS!

"Already two generations behind its competition."

ella yero;) I always respect your posts, but maybe you are being a bit biased here. I mean, the tranny will be the new 8-speed ZF, the engine is new, the chassis is the new evolution of the LX, the old MB W210 subassemblies are gone and new geometries and active suspensions are in...How that is 2 gen behind is beyond me.

Anonymous said... »December 27, 2010

HIDEOUS!!! And a Audi-copy in the front. One of the ugliest I've seen in a long time...

Anonymous said... »December 27, 2010

It's nice looking, but SCREAMS AUDI from the front.

Anonymous said... »December 28, 2010

Deftly restyled, but is it a 'new' car?

Will sell very well, despite the detractors opinions.

Anonymous said... »December 29, 2010

What an Audi copy! Chrysler f***ing sucks!

Anonymous said... »January 02, 2011

Far fro classy or sporty.Aight for the "target" market I guess.

Anonymous said... »January 07, 2011

The front has Audi headlights, grille from a Ford (F-150)
the back is from a Rolls Royce and the side is old 300. It's a Chrysler F-3-Bentlaudi!

Anonymous said... »January 11, 2011

Just the first of the Lancia-Chryslers. Great! Waiting for the Italian version!

Anonymous said... »January 17, 2011

Bring back the original 300, PLEASE!! That's a true American design!

The 2011 design is a copy-cat. MERCEDES front grill; AUDI headlamps; and BENTLEY rear. Chrysler is so desperate that it needs to copy from other European elites.
