New Honda CR-Z JCOTY Memorial Award Edition Shows off with Special Paint...and that's About it

|

To commemorate its "Japanese Car of the Year" award, Honda will release a limited edition of its CR-Z sport-hybrid hatch in Japan. Billed as a "Memorial Award Edition", the car will be coated in a hue called Pearl Deep Sapphire Blue and will roll on unique Dark Pewter Gray 16-inch rims.

Add a sticker/label on the driver's side quarter glass, and that's about it for external spruce-ups. Inside, the 1,000 Memorial CR-Zs get a Medium Gray interior, aluminum pedals, and a standard navigation system. Numbers still come in at 122 horsepower and 123-128 lb-ft of torque (CVT/6-speed) from Honda's IMA-backed 1.5-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder.

If you're over Japan way, the cars will be sold from the start of 2011. Price of admission will be a cool 2,794,000 Yen after the consumption tax (or approximately $34,200).

This is a big time cop out and outright surrender by Honda and it seems, an admission that they no longer have the stones to be seen as a segment leader.

Now comes the Hyundai Veloster, which will kick the asphalt out of this weak kneed poser and must leave Honda fan boyz twisting in their shorts.

This proves once and for all that Honda is now nothing more than an appliance on wheels fashioned to resemble an automobile.

Poo Yah!

"@The Pill, did you take your meds today?" Anonymous (I presume)

@Anonymous, I presume. Your question suggest you are in fan boyz denial. Lets find out shall we?

Lets see Honda touts the CR-Z as a so-called Hybrid!
Honda CR-Z - 2 seater no back seat vs Veloster seats 4
Honda CR-Z - engine is 1.5 liter 122 HP vs Veloster 1.6 liter 140 HP Direct Injection

Honda CR-Z MPG City/31 Highway/37 vs Veloster (est) 40 MPG* Remember Hyundai ain't even playing the Hybrid card and yet returns more MPG than this poser! But wait, there's more!

CR-Z tranny - CVT Vs Veloster 6 Spd manual or 6 Spd Auto Dual Cluth (DSG)*Just for those not in the know, DSG tech equal lightweight, durable and better performance oriented tranny over CVT!

CR-Z Base MSRP: $19,200 - seats 2-No back seat, weak arse powertrain and average to anemic fuel economy* for a poser Hybrid this is plain outright pathetic!

Vs
Veloster Base MSRP: $18k (estimate), DI engine, producing more horsepower, better fuel economy, seats 4 and not playing the "hybrid card".

This is not even a fair fight for Honda. They should take just take their marbles and go home before Hyundai kicks in their tailpipe on this POS.

Poo Yah x2!

Let's see who can "dis" Honda the most TODAY award goes to The Pill. Let's see what's behind door number 3 to see what you've won..
For all the unfavorable "reviews" here it's a wonder why Honda is racking up good sales numbers worldwide. They must know something about their customers I should think. If that's not you then why waste your breath? Has Honda bashing become a sport?

Im waiting for a special version, 4 banger, 6 speed, a-c, cruise, stereo and thats it, no batteries, no power windows, no crap and all for 14k !

Nothing beyond the veloster being approved for production is all that we know...yet some cock thinks he can know what the showroom floor price is.

Until the Veloster even shows up, you're just blowing smoking up our asses.

Go ahead and call me a 'hater' because your vocabulary doesn't extend far enough to know what 'realistic criticism' is. You know what you're doing is simply throwing out numbers on a car that isn't yet available.

When it is available, you'll have a case. Right now, you're just speculating.

How small is your brain Fanboyz? The Pill does not post any comments on specs that are not proven, known to be in the know and expertly confirmed.

Your idiotic post and wretched, cowardly comments exposes you as a weak kneed Honda fan boyz who has so unwittingly quacked shamed on your insipid self.
It's Honda fault that they are now sucking the air of Hyundai in both design and powertrain engine tech.

The best thing for you to do is to go back to seat in the bleachers and stick your thumb back in your pie hole and watch your brand get schooled!

^ Who said I was a fanboy? I don't like any brand because they are ALL untrustworthy.

What I'm getting at is that you really don't have any stats to back up your claims. Post them!

So, very simply, put up or shut up. Prove that you didn't pull those numbers out of your ass.

Fortunately, for you, there is something called the internet. Get off your lazy arse do some homework.

The enclosed link here will soon make you STFU.

It doesn't matter if you care to admit it or not.
