Power comes from a 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine delivering 122-horsepower and 360Nm of torque with 90 percent of peak power on tap from less than 2,200rpm to over 4,350rpm.

Land Rover said the Defender X-Tech Limited Edition will go on sale from March 2011, with prices in the UK starting at £24,995.

an extremely desirable vehicle, especially for us in the US who can get it. However, it's about time Land Rover upgraded the engine. 122 hp in a vehicle this size and weight is just unacceptable this day and age.

How quaint - a three-speed fan.

Yep, this confirms I'm still in love with the Defender.

rugged good look will last another century. too bad they don't want to sell it in the U.S.A anymore. buying an older model here by auction still costs the same as when it was brand new.

"Quaint" is exactly why I like it... no $1500 nav/heat/ac/gps flat screens to fritz out after the warranty expires. No electronic nanny controls. No 45 airbags. No park assist. No backup alert systems. No flaky push-buttons for the tcase. No grocery getter 'Crossover' or pretentious 'SUV' bs here. Just a good, solid, basic, for-real-go-anywhere vehicle for people who know how to DRIVE.

And... not available in the US, of course. *sigh*

headlight surrounds make it look like a panda, no?

Please LandRover, bring this truck back to the states with solid mechanicals. I would buy one in a heartbeat.
When LR decides to finally update it, they simply need to keep the exterior and redesign everything we can't see - they truck is beautiful & rugged.

Timeless design. Land Rover knows there's a market (and desire) in the US for this vehicle...

Nice to see a tidied up usable dash at last,

Is that a 6 speed gear shift i see ? :)

Quite a hike from a 15/16K utility allrounder to 24K price tag, but the creature comforts would be nice :)

When do i get my free test drive ??
Luvin it , putting my order in as soon as win the lotto :)
