A bonanza of allegedly official brochure photos showing a new, station-wagon-like variant of the Japanese domestic market [JDM] Fit have leaked onto the internet. Named the Fit Shuttle, the car appears to be based on the recently refreshed Fit (Honda uses the Jazz nameplate in Europe, Australia and other international markets) featuring a longer body with taller roofline and a redesigned rear end.
As you can see in the brochure shots, the Fit Shuttle will be offered in two flavors, a Hybrid version powered by the same IMA system with a 1.3 liter i-VTEC engine featured on the five-door hatchback model, and a more powerful variant with a regular 1.5-liter gasoline unit.
According to the Japanese media, the Fit Shuttle will be introduced in its home market within the next few weeks with sales to start around March. We'll follow the story and keep you posted on any updates.

i am likely many of the newer vehicles coming from honda and nissan. hope to see toyota branch out a bit. the nissan murano, quest, juke, altima and maxi are favorites. i love honda's niche offerings, the accord crosstour and element, the fit, amongst others. the kia soul is unique, as was the first generation scion xb. now the '11 scion coupe ranks right up there with its unique greenhouse. kudos for bringing passion back, honda, nissan, others...
my favorite aspect is the simple, straight forward dash.
Nice interior. Like the fact that it's far more subdued than the exterior. The mistake of Kia and Hyundai is the many swoops and swirls inside and out. Too busy looking. One should be understated, not compete with the other.
looks highly roomy & functional. it's mighty spiffy & will do quite well overseas. i like our u.s. fit, just wish it could be had with a sunroof. that's why we purchased a civic instead. love the sunlight and fresh air. i think it would add too much wght. as honda's reasoning. the std. fit has loads of room.
I take it this will be replacing the JDM Airwave? Imo the Airwave still looks better than this.
I know how JDM has variations from the USDM, so I hope there are tweaks made. I don't like the look of this one. If you have a car with five pillars, a designer made a mistake somewhere.

The small glass window at the a-pillar and wraparound rear glass treatment are very upscale and should yield superior visibility.
Really digging the Avant Garde styling. Even the grille speaks class act. Brave move. It will pay huge dividends in Europe and Asia. Probable in the U.S. and here in Canada.
I'm not sure I understand. It doesn't appear to be significantly longer than the standard Jazz/Fit.

i love my honda fit better:) my very first new car & it's a keeper. my husband wants me in something larger. to me it is perfect. sure, the accord is larger & more upscale, but you have to drive a fit to appreciate its swiss army knife appeal & room galore! my purse on wheels. the shuttle? love the name. it looks massive to me.

you must live in the united states and never traveled to europe or asia. dude, this is our thing in london, paris, shanghai... well, scotland, is my homeland. see, with such small roads and less than ample parking in most parts, utilization of space is critical. at least our version of the jazz/fit have styling that suits our tastes.
honda's always generate a lot of attention. i am a big fan. posts with the most chatter - good or bad show what one guy (or gal) calls "passion". so true! i like that. nothing boring about the fit shuttle. yet, i will stick with my acura tl sh and family's mdx.
I would consider this car the Japanese variant of the Citroen DS3... with a different badge... However, I believed Honda created the Airwave-esque design architecture before Citroen does...

I think that this is actually pretty good for a Honda. It takes the Fit out of a young single persons car and makes it more family friendly, without having to upsize to the CRV, Pilot or Oddity. I would consider it if it comes here. I also think Ford could bring the Focus wagon to compete in this category.

Front quarter windows are not 'upscale'. They are a design compromise when the engineers make the A-pillar meet at the top of the strut towers. The results in a grossly enlarged DLO and forces the door to take an ungangley shape.
If that afterthough wasn't there, the glass would act as one massive piece of glass with the door and it wouldn't be able to retract into the door when the glass is opened.
All this bullshit would have been avoided if those worthless front quarter windows were engineered out. They certainly aren't 'upscale'.
I have a Honda and a Citroen here at home, and like really like the cars that I have, but are you seriously comparing design languages of Honda and Citroen? And are you saying they are similar? Are people crazy?
About the Jazz Shuttle, like I said previously: Not bad.
I see that after the crosstour/POS scandal and the bashing on the internet, Honda decided to hire people to comment on its cars. No matter how many people call this ugly POS "good looking" people won't buy it.
Honda, save your money and fire all these people already and start hiring new designers. KIA and Hyundai are eating you alive.
Very "Back to the Future"ish. I am tired of the time spent on creating a car/van. I personally wish Honda could create an SUV with a lot of inside seating room but with great mpg AND if it could be good for the environment (green) EVEN better. That would be worthy of the name SHUTTLE.
I presume this replaces the JDM Airwave model.
This reminds me of the "space" wagon Civic that Honda imported in the 80s. I think they should bring it here so Honda owners can have something in their lineup besides the CrossTour. I hope that they at least put a bigger motor in there since it is heavier, most likely, because of the wagon body.

Sad. Very sad. This wannabe is doomed for failure. It is so neutral, so nothing, so stupid.
I like this little shuttle, it promises to be a good workhorse, the jazz/fit hatch has very clever packaging and this station wagon could improve on that further.
It will sell well in Europe, especially scandinavia where cars cost a fortune and reliability, durability and practicality are key priorities, nice one Honda, hope this isn't a Japanese only model!
Honda will live on forever because it's loyal customer base actually believe that this thing is a good looking vehicle. Just more proof that You guys need to take a look at the rest of the automotive world and realize that the automotive design passed You & Honda 5 years ago & you will always be behind in design as long as cars like this are in Hondas future.
