VIDEO: On the Road Footage of 2011 Chrysler 300

|

As well as revealing pricing information on the 2011 model year 300 earlier today, Chrysler has also unleashed a new video with driving footage of its redesigned saloon. We'll remind you that the 300 will get its world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show in just a few days, with sales to follow shortly after. In the U.S., Chrysler's full size sedan will offer buyers a choice of two engines, a 292HP 3.6-liter V6 and a 363HP 5.7-liter Hemi V8, the latter with the option of all-wheel drive. Video follows after the jump.

BORING VIDEO, BORING CAR.

the old model is a head turner, this new model is a very lazy redesign.

Elegant like a Chrysler should be. The old model was a bit crass with its details and had a low rent interior. Love the "C" LED touch in front. It should be a nice warning for folks to merge from the passing lane when a HEMI version shows up in their rear view mirror.

if only they would show a bit more of the front end...

Where are the REAR and INTERIOR shots?

Nothing special.

It is very odd watching this video, as this car comes across as very dull and nothing like the publicity shots we've seen before. Maybe it doesn't work in black, but I really thought I was going to like it, but now I'm not so sure.

Detroit is coming back!

that foglight camera is very unbalanced and distracting. it would have been better disguised under the grill.

The first gen was distinctive and nothing else looked like it. Is the 300 on it's way to becoming a look-a-like vehicle? Hopefully, the Fiat influenced re-design that we'll get in a few years won't be an Audi/BMW/Hyundai/Lexus/Mercedes clone. The 300 should retain some of the brash character that made the first gen so popular.

The new grille and the lines on the car shows promise and yet somehow appear to be too refrained. It is as if there was an initial aspiration to make the car more bold, beautiful and exciting but the designer decided that he didn't have the balls to carry it forward. Instead, Chrysler is settling for a design that would have been edgy and done well five years ago. It may end up selling but it wouldn't be a best seller or be on anyone's top ten list. I admit I would stop and look at once or twice every now and then if I spot one on the road, but I wouldn't do a double take. And what is it with the freaking chrome on the tail lights. it's not a Harley. You don't have to vomit chrome on a car to say luxury do you?

They absolutely ruined the 300c with this concept. How can the Americans ruin a design like this ? Weren't they able to really see what sold the first model ? Weren't they able to see what of the first model appealed to people ? The front is the blandest I have seen, the front grille couldn't be more dull, the lateral low windows are gone and the rear is just like the rear of every american rental car. For the first model, there were people in Europe who bought them for their design, and that's alot to say. This second model will probably not sell a third in Europe compared to the first one.

At least the door frames aren't wierdly crude like in the current model, and also not as chopped-top proportions as now. But they should have taken this basic idea a few years farther forward. Just streched and bent a little into a bit more dynamic teardropish shape.

Grandma, Grandma, and the black folks may be excited about this. What a dull car car with a poor history. Throw some dubs on it and the tranny will still go out at around 70k. What a waste of money. Chrysler needs to make a car that can go 100k without blowing something up.

My comment on the video:

Only the front of the car was shown. After 10 seconds the video was a waste of time. Inside shots or back shots of the car would have been so much more eventful. The filmer of that video must be a beginner because that person did nothing to promote the car. After 10 seconds, the video was completely worthless. Sorry, I wasn't impressed at the least.

I respect the 363/370bhp 5.7-litres V8 HEMI version among this series.
