As a result of the political turmoil going on in Tunisia, president Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali has fled the country. But like any dictator on the run, Ben Ali had to leave plenty of wealth behind, accumulated in his 20+ years of totalitarian rule, including his Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, which was “repossessed” by angry protesters using a forklift. Video after the jump.

Savages...
Looks like Sarah Palin also has influence in Tunis.
It shows how ignorant they are (as we were in Iraq). Why destroy goods when they can be resold at a tidy profit and potentially help others? Now who want that residence or the Ferrari?
"Looks like Sarah Palin also has influence in Tunis."
Creationism isn't coming back in style any time soon.
^^ of course! you on point there bro, they should have sold the ousted presidents properties
This behaviour IS NOT endemic to Tunisians; we ALL are capible of this. It just serves to illistrate the mindless greed and savage nature of the human race to which nothing can be done to correct.
Universal entroy can't come soon enough.
The people of an authoritarian country respect their leader or ruler... regardless whether they are Emperors, Kings, presidents, etc... with forced compliance... when the empire falls, the people released their pent-up frustrations by plundering the dictators properties and properties associated with the regime...
Look at our cultural history... it paints a similar picture... and it is really sad...
I can't believe you're actually blaming them for wanting to desecrate the property of one of the longest ruling dictators in the World. If you look carefully, they're lifting it up, not crushing it or poking holes in it or anything, just lifting it how you would lift furniture that needs to be moved.
Besides that Ferrari is symbolic to the oppression they lived in, the fact that they were on a pittance and the general population was desperately strapped for cash, yet the President and the Trabelsi's families go around driving flash cars like the World has never been better. It's provocative and it got them rightfully ousted.
Somethings in life do come before cars you know.....
Just because the man isn't there to be kicked around they don't have to turn on his car! That would be like going home and kicking your dog because you're angry at your boss.
If it was me, i'd hotwire this beauty and drive it myself out of Tunisia!
Yeah he was a d1ck but what did the poor Ferrari do to deserve than. Anyone who wilfully damages a Ferrari should be hung........or charged with property damage by a liberal democratic government ;-)
But they clearly didn't damage it, they just lifted it.
It's just a car. It being a Ferrari doesn't magically make it something other than a car. It's just metal, plastic, and rubber. It's no different than if they stole any other car. I couldn't care less what the people do with it.
Agreed! He was a dictator; he abused his power and exploited his people to get himself nice stuff. The "stuff" doesn't matter, people's civil rights and well-being does.
stupid destroyed stupid.
Guess what, the next president will do better... a brand new Maserati or a Lamborgini to start with !!!!
The problem with society is we no longer have any type of morals. Liberal politicians claim to care about the poor, yet if you look into it, alot of them have buisness interests in foreign countries and exploit them, instead of making products here and paying a fair wage. There is really no difference between the liberal/conservative elite and communists. Vote both major parties out and elect people who care about our country, not their bank accounts.
"The problem with society is we no longer have any type of morals."
But we want subjective morality, not objective morals dictated to us from a bronze age book.
If you want society to have morals, you have to do away with religon's damaging influence in government. Secularism is the only way.
