Volkswagen Releases New Batch of Photos and Info on 2012 Tiguan Facelift

|

Little by little Volkswagen is releasing new information on its facelifted for the 2012 model year, Tiguan SUV. Today, the German automaker came out with a fresh set of photos and announced that aside from the styling tweaks, the European market 2012 Tiguan also benefits from additional features and three new engines including a more powerful 2.0-liter TSI gasoline unit with 210HP.

Volkswagen didn't reveal details on the two other new / updated powerplants, simply stating that there will be four turbocharged petrol units with outputs ranging from 122HP to 210HP, and three diesels producing between 110HP to 170HP.

The company added that new safety features such as the fatigue detection, Dynamic Light Beam Assist and Lane Assist systems plus a new XDS electronic differential lock have been introduced to the range.

The 2012 Tiguan will receive its world premiere at the Geneva Salon in early March.

I wish the US version of the GTI had these tail lights.

Typical lazy VW restyle. Adds nothing to this boring (and if consumer reports are to be believed) badly made and unreliable overpriced small SUV. Mind you, it does look reasonably priced and interesting in comparison to the Audi Q5...

@anonymous - new interior in what way? It's still the ugly dull hand-me-down from the even more boring Golf+.

i was testing the tiguan last week with my wife, and when she actually sit in the car, she was like , "what is that??? i don't like it at all" well, the look and feel of materials and thing like open the door and close them was shocking!!! what are they made of??? paper? design of that interior is from 90's or even further to the past... we were running from the dealer as fast, as we could. so we went to honda, toyota, hyundai and chevy, and all of them was better then VW, by miles, we r thinking between Honda C-RV, or Hyundai Tuscon... but never a VW again...

^ no one who had ever tried a turbocharged 200hp Tiguan will agree with you... stop talking nonsense

^i drove it and it rides good, but i would agree with previous anon, quality is poor and and i really felt it when i was comparing VW with Subaru at auto show in Philly,,, they were staying side by side there,,,( it's just for example)... to open and close the door on subaru was like stick the knife in the warm butter, but to open and close the door on any VW was totally different then on many other manufacturers, there u can see the difference in quality ...

i wouldn't even mention "200hp ONLY" from the almost legendary turbo engine with 5 valve technology, !!! it's shame in 2011...
