2013 Chevrolet Malibu Photo Slips Out on the Internet

|

Thanks to an official photograph that leaked onto the internet last night, we now have our first glimpse at the exterior of all-new 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. The new mid-size sedan from GM appears to sport a robust look with a sculpted face featuring the classic split Chevrolet grille.

Aside from the leaked image, General Motors also released a new picture of the Malibu’s interior showcasing the new radio face that articulates up and down revealing a six-inch-deep hidden, illuminated storage compartment, which the company says is a first for a U.S. mid-size sedan.

Unless someone decides to offer us another sneak preview, we’ll have to wait until April 18 for the full reveal of the 2013 Malibu. As a refresher, the new iteration of the Malibu will be Chevy’s first global mid-size sedan as it will built in various locations and sold across the globe.

Definitely better than expected, especially from Chevrolet. I guess time will tell if this is the real thing, and if they didn't screw up the rest of the car.

Looks like a Buick with a Chevy grill. GM = rebranding as usual.

If anything the Malibu NEVER copied the Buick!

Both cars are based on the 2nd generation Opel Insignia.

The same way the previous Malibu and Saturn Aura were both based on the 1st Generation Opel Insignia as well.

Do not credit Buick where it never deserved to be credited with the Regal name. Especially it being rebranded from its German counterpart.

Looks good - Good effort from GM...
I'll definitely have a look at this car when it comes out...

It's just a Malibu...what's the big deal? Another faceless vehicle among the ocean masses.

Anonymous said... »April 14, 2011

hopefully it will be roomy in back seat, i.e. headroom..now becoming a luxury in many cars

Hopefully they've pushed the steering wheel on nice and firmly. Wouldn't want it coming off in your hands at 65mph like some other shoddy cars out there.

Ahmed's old Nissan maxima broke down "again". He won't be in today to write some more of the same old tired lies that he calls the truth. LOL what a loser that man is.

Speaking of tired out lies, Those vents looks really nice and the radio/storage box is a very nice touch!

I really like the shape of this Chevrolet Malibu. The car is very handsome looking. Chevrolet did a outstanding job on this car.

Also , please to the haters > GET A LIFE

This is no more a re badging job then the Toyota Camry and Lexus ES300 is a re badging job. Beyond sharing a platform , maybe engines and transmissions, this car has nothing from the Buick regal so this is not a re badge to all the posters who said oh anther GM re badge . One more thing is this does look even more betetr then the regal does and bigger then the regal does.

Sure as hell looks a great deal like the Buick LaCrosse. Nooooo...no rebranding there...none whatsoever. When will GM ever learn?

Anonymous said... »April 15, 2011

It just looks like Opel Insignia with chevy grille. its basically re-badged Opel. Well..a typical GM product line up

Its good to see that Chevy is adopting some of European GM products though.

Yawn... and the groundbreaking innovation??? A hidden storage compartment!!!! Stop the presses!!!

Another me-too, forgettable vehicle from Generic Motors.

I am seeing a Chevy HHR in the new front end.

35 years on and some people still get bent out of shape about rebadging.

It's an industry practice that will be here forever. Get over yourselves.

"Ahmed's old Nissan maxima broke down again" not true he was just busy doing typical islam things, I found a video of him and his car helping transport a fellow islam(terrorist) to his 100 virgins!

Have a look

Looks too much like the Epica. I am sorely disappointed at first look.

Oh wow the haters are in full force I see with their blunt lies. Good job Chevrolet. As far as the haters do go all that matters is the final numbers of sold malibu's

Talking cheap is easy and the haters have made a art of cheap talk.

Let's just say the picture doesn't do the Malibu justice. If you think it's a Regal rebadged, then you're uninformed. Just keep your opinions until you've actually seen, touched, and sat in it. This car isn't your same old "crap" GM car that seems to be the battle cry of the import loving media and import owners. Having spent my entire career with GM,I too was ashamed at some of our products that we put out. But I can proudly say we are putting out some kick ass cars now. They may not all be winners, but they sure as hell aren't crap.

This is such a handsome looking car. Chevrolet has really done a great job with designing the look of this car. I still can't say how I feel about the interior because the pictures that I have seen so far do not show enough of the interior to judge it, but I must say the radio face / storage bin is a very cleaver ideal. I really like the current Malibu a lot , so I hope the interior is as good as the current one or even more better then the current one would be great.

The last 2 years GM has really been weeding out the "GM CRAP" as haters call it. This Malibu is a statement to the improvements though out GM.

In all honestly if priced right for my budget and if the interior is as good as I think it might be then this will go to the top of my next car shopping list in 2 years when I trade in my current 4 year old car.

I am really digging the exterior shape of this car a lot, it looks modern yet retro like from the 70's muscle phase of American cars.

There is not much not to love unless you are a hater
