Audi has revealed the first official teaser sketches of its Q3 ‘baby’ SUV model, prior to its world premiere at the Shanghai Auto Show later this month. The drawings confirm the Q3 will look pretty much like the Cross Coupe quattro design study unveiled by Audi in 2007.
However, the front end of the production Q3 seems changed in comparison with the aforementioned concept, with the headlights sporting a thinner, stretched shape and being mirrored in the lower side of the bumper by the spaces for the fog lights.
At the back, the car looks similar to the concept, with the exception of the tailgate window angle, which is not as inclined as on the Cross Coupe quattro.
The interior pictures reveal a similar shaped steering wheel and instrument panel, with changes having been made to the center console, where the gearshift lever appears to look more conventional than on the 2007 concept car.
The crossover model will be built at Seat's Martorell plant in Spain and will be based on the same architecture as the VW Tiguan. Previously, an inside source told Carscoop that the new Q3 will arrive in European showrooms this fall, most likely in September or October, depending on the market.
The source added that the Q3 will be offered at launch with three powertrain options - a 170PS 2.0-liter TFSI with a 6-speed manual gearbox and CO2 emissions of 172 gr/km; a 211PS 2.0-liter TFSI with an S Tronic transmission and CO2 emissions of 184 gr/km, and a 170PS 2.0-liter TDI diesel and an with an S Tronic transmission and CO2 emissions of 158 gr/km.
Official details about the car will be announced shortly, so stay tuned on Carscoop for more info.

ok this is exciting!!!!! NOT!!!!!
looks like any other audi at-least the X1 has a deferent design look its nt far frm other bm's bt it looks nice this is a waste like seriously
It's a Q5, no wait, a Q7....
Looks awesome! I'm sure it will have the signature fit and finish that Audi is known for. Even before I've seen it, it's my #1 choice for a small SUV. Just give us one of your powerful and efficient engines and it's sold. BRAVO!
Are you sure anonymous3?????? look into the reliability of the Q5, Audis are maint shop whores!!! yes warranty covers it, but the hassel???? your car will spend half the time at the dealer. Reliability is the only thing that keeps me away far far away from any Audi product.
I have owned 2 Audi products and they have been stellar. Personally, I can speak from experience of ownership. Can you? Troll.
Same old Audi design... Different size.
The exterior sketches do not do the car justice.
But I am really looking forward to the Audi Q4.
Troll lol, look up surveys or buy a lemon guide and see how stellar these Audis are!
I have owned a 2003 A4 and it was the worst car ever, dont get me wrong it was perfect when nothing was acting up but that was rare. What pissed me off most was the time wasted bringing or towing the car to and from the dealer. Audi should offer a service like Hyundai is offering pick up and drop off, because the warranty doesnt cover my time thats worth $120p/h.
VW tiguan ripoff edition...!?
