2012 Mercedes-Benz ML Class: First Official Photos hit the Web

|

A leaked brochure of the all-new 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML Class that was floating around the internet on Monday was followed up today with the release of the first official photos.

We are still waiting for Mercedes to come out with an announcement detailing the next iteration of its mid-size SUV, but aside from the evolved styling language, we learn that the ML also introduces a new engine lineup that will include a 2.1-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine with a little over 200-horses. A hybrid version based on the same turbocharged diesel powerplant will follow next year.

The range of Stuttgart's BMW X5 rival will also include refined V6 and V8 petrol models as well as a more powerful V6 diesel, plus a top-end AMG version with the firm’s latest 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8. The 2012 ML will receive its world premiere at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show this fall. Stay tuned on Carscoop for more photos and information.

Amazing looking car. The only problem I have is with the front facia: the headlights look a bit too small and soft (should have added some hard angular lines), and the front bumper is way too busy

Love the interior's matte wood...but why the shiny wood on the steering wheel? The quilted brown leather is a nice option.

Looks like a continued success.

Looks like the person who designed the exterior only remembered he had to hand over the finished design project a few hours before the deadline. It only takes a couple of hours to take the old design erase all memorable design features, change the headlights and the bumpers and er..... that's it really.

Looks great, an obvious mild evolution of the last design. At least it doesn't look like any of the Japanese and Korean crapboxes. And we know it will drive a lot better than Fords and GM SUVs (is Chrysler still in business?).

Mercedes Benz or Diamler Benz now is a falling giant, their vehicles nowadays are so out of chacater and design and this looks like the END of the M-Class SUV. BMW has it with the X5 as the winner

Do they offer good after-sales for this fug-moblie. Or is it reliable in the first place?

What's up with Germany, did they fire all of the good designers? VW, BMW and Mercedes are all so conservative lately. Only Audi has some appealing models, and even they aren't pushing the envelope. Germany needs to hire the designers from Korea.
