All-New 2012 Toyota Camry and Camry Hybrid Coming this Fall

Toyota officially placed the arrival of the all-new 2012 Camry sedan and its hybrid sibling (2010/2011 Camry pictured above) in the U.S. market for this fall during the company’s annual national dealer meeting which took place on Wednesday in Las Vegas.

The Japanese company said that the next generation of its best-selling model will move away from the conservative designs of the past.

“Designed to meet the changing needs of the 21st Century driver, the new Camry will provide technologically advanced features, a contemporary design inside and out, improved performance and refined ride and handling,” Toyota said in a press statement.

Citing an unnamed dealer who attended the meeting, the Wall Street Journal reported that the Japanese carmaker will support the new Camry with a massive media campaign in October with some 40 new commercials positioning the sedan as "smart, safe and worry-free".

The dealer also told the newspaper that Toyota is planning to introduce several new models including a redesigned Avalon sedan, the production version of its Prius c compact hybrid concept, and the Scion FR-S rear-wheel drive sports coupe. He added that the Japanese carmaker also showed dealers battery-powered versions of the RAV4 SUV and the IQ city car.

During the meeting, Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) President Akio Toyoda told dealers that the company’s North American division will gain more autonomy and control over its operations.

Calling it his “most important goal,” Mr. Toyoda stated he will “empower those with local knowledge to make their own decisions”.

Hopefully they won't raise the beltline. This styling trend is just getting silly. Toyota makes great products, but wish they would do something about the short windshield glass and the roof being brought forward so much. If you are taller in stature, you always have to crick your neck to see stop light. I have heard many like their Camry's except for this flaw. Like many Toyotas they seem to be made for avg to shorter people.

Japanese cars built in the U.K. are popular. They are well designed and are extremely efficient and reliable. Imported Japanese cars are too expensive for most customers. There are better (read more powerful) European alternatives for the money. And its changing gradually. People here this side of the blue prefer Nissan and stuff.

"Nuclear fallout powered...no thanks"
You don't like Nukular. Well then you are blind to Fort Calhoun which holds 30 times more nuclear fuel than Fukushima. The flooding there is sure to cause fallouts.
You have just been Jizzed with Nukular... mate.

the stately toyota camry is #1 for many valid reasons. i love its current look and would hate to see it become over-styled like the kia optima and hyundai sonata... both good cars, but their trendy lines will begin to look outdated soon enough. a good design like the honda accord and camry (as evidenced by customer satisfaction surveys, retail sales, repeat buyers and residual rates) is what sets Honda and Toyota apart from the wannabes.

The 11MY Camry still looks fresh, even though I am a very happy long time Honda driver. We are loyal. So are Toyota customers.

warning, go read thw website IHATETOYOTA.COM before you buy a toyota product. Their cars and trucks have many issues and would be a waste of your hard earn money.

So many consumers are having problems with the 2000 to 2011 models. These cars and trucks by toyota lexus and scion are junk.

If you want a good car or truck

buy Honda
buy Hyundai
Buy ford
Buy Mazda
Buy Chevrolet
Buy any brand but toyota if you value your money

Being built in the USA is the only good thing about this car.

I have not seen the new images for the MY 12 but if Toyota other restyled models is any indication of the 12 model then it will be hideous looking.

I traded in my 2002 Toyota Camry on a 2011 Hyundai Sonata back in Jan 11 The reason I traded in my Camry was it had problems but to be fair all small stuff like the door handle in the back breaking off on the inside of the car, the inside mirror falling off, the air vent loves breaking and falling out of the vent, the seat fabric becoming loose and leaving a bumpy mess, other small stuff too like the head lights burning out every 6 months, the transmission once stuck in R but what ever it was it corrected itself.but after speaking with a co worker who has a 2006 Hyundai sonata with 109.000 miles with not even the smallest of hick up I decided to give the Hyundai sonata a chance and boy am glade I brought this car. This car is honestly built like a lock and safe. when did Hyundai spin like wonder woman does and change into a super hero of car makers?

My 2011 Hyundai sonata is the best car I have ever owned. I am now looking into helping my 17 year son get a 2010 Hyundai genesis coupe at my Hyundai dealer with 1000 miles for his forst car to send him off to college and my wife is going back to work as a school bus driver to pay fir his college so we are thinking about this 2009 sonata with 38000 miles for 12000 dollars and trading in her 1994 Toyota Previa minivan with 245000 miles but the engine block has a crack and it was a great van but time to put it to rest, which has been a lot better then my 2002 Toyota Camry ironically. the Hyundai dealer is going to give us 500.00 for the minivan to show on his toyota side of his dealer lot how great toyotas used to be made.He is having ahard time selling his toyotas he said while the Hyundai fly off the lot .toyota should look at their faulty new models and change stuff ASAP AND UNLIKE TOYOTA, hYNDAI HAS TOLD ME WHAT MY HYUNDAI SONATA WILL BE WROTH IN 4 YEARS IF i WANT A NEW CAR

We used to be a family of driven toyotas and now we are a about to become a family of driven hyundais

anon12, I traded my 2004 chevy malibu for a 2011 hyundai sonata 2.0 T tubro model. I agree the Sonata is a great model. When my friends ask how I like my Sonata 2.0T I tell them "WOW" is the way I always feel when I am driving my sonata

Yes Americans were dumbies when they brought those toyota models. I agree, we did witness the dumbing of america by toyota when they sold their junk to us all

Frankly Toyota, Honda and most of the Nissans models are the best. Hyundai is also very good and that's no lie.
Our domestic companies are not good. It is the truth. You have to be practical when you buy a car, its the next big investment after your house.
