At last year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Toyota displayed a lightly modified version of the Prius Hybrid to inaugurate its new line of accessories under the PLUS moniker.
Now it’s time for the Japanese automaker to release the production version of its modestly sported up Prius with the commercial launch of the PLUS Performance Package that will be available for order in July in limited numbers.
The package features styling and performance upgrades, and is optionally available on all Prius models with pricing set at $3,699 for the Prius Two, Three, and Four trim levels and $2,999 for the Prius Five.
Customers can choose from four exterior colors -Blizzard Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Black and Winter Gray Metallic. On the outside, the Prius PLUS is dressed in a seven-piece ground effects kit that includes front and rear bumper spoilers, side skirts and a rear diffuser.
The hybrid model also gains 17-inch alloy wheels in a five-spoke design wrapped in low-profile 215/45R17 tires with a custom offset, which Toyota says increases the track width while “maintaining Prius’ low rolling resistance”.
Underneath the sheetmetal, the PLUS package adds a sports-tuned suspension with lowering springs (1.1 inches in the front and 1.3 inches in the rear) and a new rear sway bar constructed of high carbon spring steel.
Custom badging inside and out along with bespoke carpet floor mats round off the package.

is the body kit helping improve the drag coefficient or is it just for looks ? If its for looks it will decrease the fuel efficiency
Yes it reduces drag.
A good designed Body Kit would lower Cd and of course making car have more fuel efficiency .
still ugly
Look a sharp. Nice Colour.
what is sharp about this car anon5, beside the ugly in your face sharp pain I get in my chest when I look at the pictures of this deserter of a already ugly car trying to be sporty . sorry Toyota should had learn from Sarah Palin, you can put lipstick on a pig but it is till a pig. well in Toyota case also a unreliable pig. I would never waste my hard earn money on any un reliably built Toyota product.Look how far their scion brand fell on the JD Power list. Toyota makes junk and if they thinking sticking lipstick on their pigs will make buyers go gaga over their cars then their as crazy as lady gaga.
Anonymous 6 . You forgot toyota sells has fell this month again from this time last year.
Every month toyota has lost sells for the last 2 years from the same time of the previous years as well.
toyota can blame it on the earthquake but any one can drive to a toyota dealer and see tons of toyota models setting on the dealer lots , So the "its a earthquake fault excuse" does not fly.
It is failed poor redesigned cars like the yaris, scion tc , updated prius that has help to dilute toyota image, never mind their recall problems too .
Toyota is also famous for abusing its TRD name by calling a face-lift with new rims, body kit and stickers a TRD version. It's a total rip off. They should change it to TLD - Toyota Looks Development.
I like it! Priuses always look much better live. And this will be no exception. I like it!
A ugly duckling indeed. I should get some of those Toyota fan boy glasses to see the crazy image only they can see when they say they like these Toyota monstrous cars
ihatetoyota.com is avery great web site. proof of how junky toyota models are.
Well obviously paid haters look very obvious and very sore. Pathetic job haters. You look like you were forced to hate.
Have any of you even graduated from high school? Your spelling and grammar is atrocious! Do you expect anyone to take your options seriously? Your think the Prius is ugly and unreliable? Your need to conduct better research on the subject. Show me a more reliable car that has the utility, size and fuel economy to match the Prius. As for the performance plus package, I have similar mods on my 2005 and it is a night and day difference versus the stock suspension and wheels.
I bought a 2011 Prius in May and its the BEST car iv'e EVER owned...I was married to a man who owned a car dealership and have owned over 37 cars and this car is far the most comfortable. The gas mileage is awesome...can't wait to trade up to a 2012!!!!!
