2012 Toyota Camry Appears in Different Form in Ukraine [High-Res Gallery]

|

After this week's world premiere of the North American market 2012 Camry, Toyota is now preparing the debuts of its mid-size sedan in other regions of the world. First up is the Ukrainian version, which will most likely be offered in the same form in other surrounding markets including Russia.

While both iterations of the 2012 Toyota Camry share the same body and platform, the Ukrainian model sports a different and more prominent front-end design with bespoke headlamp units, bumper, hood, grille and front fenders.

The profile remains the same while at the rear Toyota's designers extended the tail lamps and restyled the deck lid that now features a subtle lip.

Inside, the changes seem to be limited to the region-specific trim and color options plus a different glove box design.

Toyota Ukraine said the new 2012 Camry will be offered locally with a choice of 2.5-liter four-cylinder and 3.5-liter six-cylinder gasoline engines, and prices starting from US$33,050, with more details to be available before the end of the year.

Kudos to Sergii for the tip!

Does anyone know if Eastern Europe markets also have the Avensis? And if they do, why the duplicity?

I actually think this looks way better then the one we are getting in US, this looks more Lexus-like.  I wouldn't mind owning this design but I will never purchase the US version.  Perhaps this will become the next ES?

Nice move Toyota,
Now we all see, cause Ukrainian kazachs and others ex comunists you care more, than all people of US. Werry verry interestining move to offer them the "JDM qualitty" Camry

IMHO this looks much much better than US version which looks cheap and plastic.
But you must remember that in the EU even Avensis is much more expensive than Camry in US. So I think that European Camry will be very expensive, and it will be sort of "Baby Lexus" :)

Seeing this version of the Camry makes me think that it was originally destined for the US.  But once they took a look at the Sonata, they decided they had to go back to the drawing board to make the US version look more "dynamic."  Now we get a car that looks like an embiggened Corolla.

In Australia they have two versions of the Camry...the 4 cylinder is called Camry and the V6 is called Aurion. It uses a different front and rear as well as some dash and trim differences. So this one will be our new Aurion and the American Camry will be our Camry as well.

Now this is the Camry we should have gotten in the US instead of that hideous amalgamation that we did. (Our model looks like the front end wants to be a Civic, the side panels a Forte' and the rear end a Corolla.) Granted this new body is still no match for the outgoing model's classic, understated and upscale lines, and the tail-lamps are also still a tad low-grade, overall this is by far a better, and more Camry-worthy, offering; especially the interior and front end.

Well, then do the former USSR countries get the Avensis? How does the Toyota range there look?

has small similar traits of the 2013 Lexus GS

Every one keep saying it looks better than the North American version, but u didn't realize that this is not suppose to be the same class there as it is here because it starts at $33,000, which means it will resemble a lexus es in North America.
