Truth to be said, we've spied the upcoming Porsche 991 -that's Porsche talk for the next generation of the 911- more times than we can remember these past few months. In fact, just earlier today we brought you some fresh spy shots of the 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo Convertible.
So what's new about these latest scoop pictures? Well, we get a clearer look at both the regular coupe and convertible models of the 911 series without any of that annoying body camouflage.
However, Porsche's engineers have retained the fake surrounds on the headlamps and taillights to confuse us (insert tongue-in-cheek comment here) on the appearance of the 991.
If you'd like to compare the 991 with the current 997 series, check out our gallery below.
We'll just note that the new 911 is slightly larger than its predecessor and that the entry-level Carrera gets a new 3.4-liter flat-six with around 350-horses while the sportier Carrera S features a 3.8-liter unit delivering about 400 ponies. Both models will be available with a new 7-speed manual gearbox or an optional PDK double-clutch automatic transmission.

Seven (7) speed manual gearbox? As in 7 forward gears plus a revers? Isn't that a first in any car? Can't wait to sample it..I suppose better fuel economy is behind that.
The designers did a good job of bringing the 911 in line with the Panamera's styling. I like it. If I had the money, I would collect an iteration of every 911. Why not?
they all look the same...it's getting boring with these things....Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Aaah, c'mon... they don't really look the same and everybody knows it. It's just evolving slowly, very slowly. That's how Porsche likes to do it. No problem for me.
looks to me that I'm not going to like the new headlights of new Porsche 991, seems to me it will come from old models like Porsche 718 and 904 gts, and 918 RSR model.
Why does Porsche even bother with camo when 99.99% of people couldn't tell the difference between the new and outgoing models if you placed the two next to each other?

Thanks, probably the best pics of it so far. I like! Those headlights, however, worry me.
Still waiting for a more masculine porsche
