In the years that followed after the suspension of production of the last Toyota Supra, the MkIV in 2002, we were (and still are) blasted with numerous reports and rumors suggesting that the Japanese carmaker is planning a revival of its flagship sports car.
More recently, Car Magazine cited unnamed official sources as saying that Toyota has already approved a successor to the Supra. Of course, until we hear it from Toyota, we're obliged to take everything we read about a future Supra with a grain of salt.
Nevertheless, we always welcome design proposals for future cars from talented artists like Andreas Fougner who attempted to reinterpret the Toyota Supra for the 21st century.
Fougner's design builds on the basic lines of Toyota's upcoming FT-86 rear-wheel drive sports coupe creating a slightly more muscular and distinct shape. You can check out the rest of the images below and tell us what you think about it in the comments section.

cool concept! go for it TOYOTA! [+]
nice! cong to new design nissan 370 z . wait... is this toyota?
Toyota needs to hire this artist and build this car to revive their bland image. Or, don't brand the new FT-86 as a Scion.
Very Nissan GT-R like, amazing how much influence that one model has had on the market and designers.
I'd like to see the Supra comeback, with the old style straight six and twin turbos, but a V-6 single and/or twin turbo seems most likely.
Actually I'd prefer see a large 2.5 to 2.7 L V4, a single turbo baseline model with 290 to 340 HP, and a twin turbos, 380 to 420 HP model, that would be my personal design choice. A lightweight engine that would keep total weight down below 3000 pounds. Priced between 36K to $62K, and they'd sell like hotcakes.
It looks good but good luck being able to see out of the rear half of this thing.
This artist rendition is a tasteful mix of 370Z-CX16-GTR (Front), R8 (Side), LFA-NSX (Rear).
It works however I feel a more original version would be much nicer. The MkIV in 2002 was
very unique as was the last Supra produced. Toyota design can start with a fresh sheet of paper and really create a winner drawing on inspirations from the past yet being original - too much designer talent out there for carbon copies of other brands. In addition, Toyota should create a Lexus version (Baby LFA) using the new Supra - it would sell very well. Who knows when we'll see a new SC or ISf for that matter.
Btw.. I completely agree, Toyota should hire this designer: Andreas Fougner to work on the Project Supra. Excellent work.
I think it has features borrowed from 350-370Z and GTR as previous people said, but still it's a very clean design, you can feel that someone actually studied those shapes and all in all it looks very good !
Excellent !!!!
This disign is absolutaly perfect.
I am an Alfista and wish we had such a talented disigner in our team.
Bravo !
I agree the styling looks a bit copied from other makes/ models. It is also not really that expressive as it always has been.
What I would love to see is a FT-86/ LFA influenced design with cues from the last Supra model.

SUPRA-STAR!
...but the previous car was a legend. Huge work for Toyota.
I was wondering where did you find any similarity with the GTR???!!!! The design of this supra is copletely irrelevant to the GTR!!!!!
Nope, Toyota doesn't do long swooping waves in their designs.
Really nice and clean !
Toyota's designer must be shy....
nice work, but pointless, it took Toyota 6 yrs or more to get out a product (their own design), so we are not likely to see anything like this, ever!
Golly, you're so intuitive. Have you always been this brilliant. I bet the mirrors in your townhouse are worn out.
Are you questioning the automotive mavin.... such gall.
So have you been hanging around my house looking in my Windows? Have you been following my twitter stream and making phone calls to the St. Louis County PD, anonymous tips about criminal activity perhaps, playing a little game? Maybe you even have friends in the police department, who are themselves Tea Party members. Yes I was surprised by the flashing lights and the hands on the guns, very cute. But you'll have to do better than that, I don't scare easy these days, I'm not frightened nor can I be intimidated.
This does sound like the kind of thing stupid Tea Party thugs would do. But I don't think your corporate massas' will be too thrilled with you implicating yourselves and them in criminal activity, then talking about it on the Internet, just couldn't resist though could you :). But keep talking, and keep playing your games and thinking you're clever, your time an American is coming to a close, the desperation of your tactics only emphasizes that truth.
Nice car !!! Has great flow from front to rear.
...and if you look back in time you will notice that toyota celica (2001 model) has almost identical front lights with the GTR!! Therefore the GTR is influenced by a toyota celica!
jizz in my pantss...
GOOGLE does that compute?
FAIL ! Take a hint from Honda. I know YOU saw what they did with the CRX. UHHH Yea, the CRZ.
beautiful design. cant wait
I like the side view, how the rear is higher than the front. Giving it an aggressive look. But the curves just aren't flowing to me. There's too many curve going all over the place and not connecting. The MK4 supra had a simple design that consisted of smooth flowing curves, that I just don't see here. I have to agree with the comment above cool new design Nissan 370z design. Try again, Toyota.
It's going to be like $200,000 have a v10 and be crazy futuristic.... aka ruin the Supra. They need to make one that captures the old Supra's awesome characteristics, namely turbocharged six cylinder rear wheel drive sex.
