Today, Hyundai's South Korean blog treated us to the first official photos of the upcoming 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
The new pictures confirm that the styling changes will bring the rear-wheel drive coupe in line with Hyundai's more recent offerings such as the Veloster as well as the European i30 hatchback and i40 sedan.
The most obvious changes take place up front where the Genesis Coupe obtains a new nose featuring a larger hexagonal grille split in the middle by a glossy black section, along with a different bumper, sleeker lights and a redesigned hood with air vents.
At the back, we find brand new tail lamps sitting atop the redesigned bumper and a more concave boot lid.
We don't have any official information on what's going on under the sheetmetal, but it is believed that the 2013 Genesis Coupe will get Hyundai's newer 3.8-liter V6 engine producing 333-horses and 291 lb.-ft. of torque, matched to a new 8-speed automatic transmission.
If our translation of the flyer is correct, Hyundai plans to introduce the refreshed Genesis Coupe in its home market on November 12. The North American model is slated to debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

THEY RUINED IT!!
380GT sounds like a better name for this car than Genesis coupe since the coupe and sedan are nothing alike in mission or styling. Otherwise the front looks a bit too much like the rest of the lineup but it is better than the bland could be anything front end of the current car. the chrome door handles look cheap and aftermarket on this car....otherwise rename the 380GT here.....
Always an odd vehicle with odd styling quirks. One of the few vehicles in the Hyundai lineup that I fail to like. Trying too hard to be something it isn't in a category where's it's undefined.
Something really wrong with the headlights, give a sad attitude. Definitely not a match for this kind of car.
How the heck can you all tell from a couple of teasers! Just wait and see it in person.
New front end gives it a bolder look definitely an improvement over the current front grille.
