Allow us to give a big hat tip to Carscoop reader "Fcorbs" who quickly noticed the digital rendering of the 2013 Audi A3 3-door hatchback in one of the photos of the upcoming compact model's interior released only moments ago by the German firm on the occasion of the CES in Las Vegas.
As viewed in this image, the exterior design of the third iteration of A3 hatchback keeps the basic body style of the current model adding a more distinct fascia with its key stylistic elements such as the six-point grille and headlamps borrowed directly from the RS3 sedan concept shown in Geneva last year.
Also notable is the more pronounced beltline that has made its way on all new Audi models as well as the door mounted exterior mirrors.
Audi has already confirmed that the new A3 will enter production later this year, with the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March being a prime candidate for its world premiere.

Basically just a bigger A1. Beyond bored of Audi now, they may have quality but what's the point when all there cars look the same.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have the A3 as a 5dr only model and the A1 as its smaller, lighter, sportier 3dr counterpart? No? Fine. *Sulks*
The new A3 will come in a 5 door and 3 door body style.
Same again styling from Audi and more than a bit disappointing.
Surprise! A6 in the front, A1 in the back.
Some more exterior shots are here: http://www.autoforum.cz/predstaveni/nove-audi-a3-2012-vzhled-zevnejsku-predcasne-odhalen/
Rear and better front view...
Waauww, So interesting! Looks exactly the same as the old one, so Audi like, gotta love them for their boredom
Meni, do you know if the S3 with me coming to the US & if so, when?
You forgot the sedan variant.
....and it looks like the one before that too.
I usually try to defend the manufacturers for their boring and unimaginative design with describing it as "Strong family DNA" or "For conservative and discerning customers" but this is just offensive. 1.3*Audi A1+ 0.7*A6 front. Pathetic! A car made by people with no imagination for people with no imagination.
you obviously have never driven an Audi
All the truth
