Ferrari's 599 Successor Scooped on Film Revving its New V12 Powerhouse

|

The styling of its cars may have changed several times over the years but one thing remains the same: the magnificent sounds Ferrari's 12-cylinder engines.

The replacement for the Ferrari 599 is no exception, even in an unpolished prototype form. The heavily camo'd test car was filmed around the Italian carmaker's Maranello headquarters with the driver doing his best to please our ears…

Lurking under its long hood in a front-mid-mounted position is a modified version of the Ferrari FF's new direct-injection 6.3-liter V12 powerplant, which according to Ferrari CEO Amedeo Felisa, will produce more than 700 horsepower in the 599's successor.

We'll have the chance to see the new Ferrari supercar at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March.

i LOVE The 559, so Ferrari would have to make a come back with their replacement for it. We've seen the California and the 458 and the FF. So this replacement would probably be a fusion of all three of their new styles and engines.

Sounds like it has the exhaust managment controling noise at low revs. But the front of this car resembles the 575 with all the body coverings
