One of the most attention-grabbing design studies at this year's 2012 Detroit Motor Show was the Lexus LF-LC, a prototype for a sports coupe powered by an unspecified hybrid powertrain.
Lexus says that its goal with the concept was to share its vision of what a premium sports coupe could look like with the public as well as to display the brand's evolved styling language and future technologies.
In this new video, the Japanese company's designers from its Calty Studio in California, which was responsible for the creation of the LF-LC, talk us through all the design details. Hop over the break to check it out.

I don't know about you, but I still find this car extremely ugly.
I on the other certainly hope it's last press release from Lexus about it for a while...it's getting pretty much borring...companies known for constant hit designs don't dwell for even half the time Lexus has so far taken with their concept...I think it's actually quiet cool looking just too much in your face press releases...
What?
Really awesome, Lexus needs to produce this, to become a "buy used fave", just like the first gen. SC.
Most Gorgeous. LfA inspired!
I think it is ugly as well.
What a styling disaster. That is one ugly car.
The overall shape, proportions are f-ing awesome. However, the 'opposing Lexus Ls' and the 'tear drop lights' on the front and the rear are what kills this car. The front is a pinched, swooping, dripping, swerving mess of lines and shapes. The rear is almost the same. Yet when you see this car from 3/4 overhead and the front and rear are hidden, the car is gorgeous. Another car ruined by a Lexus front end.
Beauty within great engineering = Great Car.
Kudos to all involved ...A masterpiece of automotive design.
Why does this video feel and sound like a new Apple product video...?
Besides the gay commentary, I love the design. I'm sure other makers will be emulating it for years to come.
People who find this car ugly will find really thin crack whore attractive...
j'adore cette voiture. Je la veux !
