New Photos of the 2012 Kia Cee'd Hatchback

|

We got our first peek at the next generation of the European market Kia Cee'd earlier this week when Kia released a single picture of the five-door hatchback, but today, the Korean automaker dropped a few more photos revealing the car's profile and rear end.

Kia's upcoming entry in the VW Golf segment features a more mature and upmarket styling with the large lights on either end of the car taking center stage. The Cee'd also gets Kia's new signature grille encompassed in a chrome surround.

We'll have to wait a bit for the interior shots, but according to the South Korean automaker, the new Cee'd will get a "driver oriented dashboard and refined interior, with a strong focus on quality of materials".

The five-door hatchback will make its first public outing at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March before it goes on sale across Europe in the beginning of the summer.

The Cee'd will be followed up by a replacement to the three-door Pro_Cee'd and later on, the Cee'd Station Wagon.

That is one handsome car - more coherent than the Focus, more interesting than the Golf and less fussy than the Civic. I'd definitely buy one!

Fantastic work Kia, I bet VW's senior staff are even more annoyed after seeing this!

The new car looks so German, if the upcoming VW corporate face was photoshopped onto that, we'd be congratulating VW on a great New Golf!  Also, aren't those VW's recently introuced door handles?

I think the rear corners look just like the SEAT Leon II, and I like the exterior of that (just a shame the interior was badly designed)

If they do the same good job on the 3 door, I'll be VERY interested!

If I was Honda I would steal Kai's head designer and if I was Toyota I would work on making my products as reliable as the Korean brands of Hyundai and Kia and Honda products then steal that same designer from Honda

OMG, people, just grow up! its the same story every time Kia brings a new car to the world... blabla it looks like golf blablabla looks like Astra blabla elements of other cars bla bla... yes it has elements of other car, because... and now dont be shocked... cause it is a CAR! it has to have wheels, doors, bonnet, headlights and pillars... all cars look the same today. but its mainly because of all the safety regulations, chasing stars in NCAAP tests, aerodynamics and so on. Just admit it - there is not much to improve nowadays and if you bring a complete different design, tha car looks stupid and ugly like all Ssangyongs few years ago... and btw, the head designer of KIA is Peter Schreyer - a german guy that designed VW passat, Audi TT and many many other cars, that are looked at as legends of car-design.
