Volkswagen has made the new Up! city car a little more practical with the presentation of a five-door model that will go on sale across Europe early this summer.
The new addition to VW's New Small Family, which is the internal name for the model series, keeps the same 2.42 m (95.3-in.) long wheelbase and 251-liter boot as the three-door model.
As a result, the rear passenger space is also the same with 947 mm of headroom (versus 993 mm in the front) and 789 mm of legroom, while the rear seat bench is set slightly higher than that in the front, at 378 mm (versus 306 mm).
Not surprisingly, the five-door model has an identical engine lineup comprising of a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline unit available with 60PS (59HP) and 75PS (74HP) and equipment versions (take up!, move up!, high up!, black up!, white up!).
The German automaker said it anticipates that over half of all buyers will choose the five-door version that will cost €475 euros (US$615) more than the three-door model.
Expect the Seat and Skoda flavored versions of the Up! to also be offered with a five-door body style in the very near future.

I prefer it to the 3 door for some reason
What's an UP in this car?
It's just a few CM Shrinked POLO.
Nothing like the Funky Show car..
Much better looking than the 3 door version- the three door with that stupid bold kink in the C-Pillar, was more of an "UP-yours!"
Nasty rear styling and ugly lamp arrangement. Badly in need of a rear-lift.
Heavy black lines on the front look ensure an ugly front as well. Only decent view is from the side...
