Watch a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO hit Black Ice and Almost Crash in West Virginia Pile Up [NSFW]

The first major snowfall of the season brought along bad news for some 30 drivers that were involved a multi-car pileup along the West Virginia Turnpike on Monday.

One of the luckier and perhaps more skilled drivers in a modded Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VIII captured some of the accidents on his dashboard camera when his car stepped on black ice and almost lost complete control of the AWD model - at which point, he repeatedly makes use the "F" word, hence the NSFW warning.

Unlike the Ford Flex in front him that crashed into an Audi Avant, he was able to steer the EVO out of harm's way (aside from some minor damages, that is), though he would have probably avoided getting into this situation altogether if he wasn't going as fast, something he admits on his YouTube posting:

"Im driving this fast because for one, I always drive fast. And I own an EVO. lol. This storm came out of nowhere. Weather was clear 15 seconds before the video started. I let go of the gas to slow down instead of braking in the beginning of the video.

I knew I was driving too fast and braking would not have been a good idea. Beginning of this film is when I pushed the record button on the camera. You can hear me shut off the radio. My wipers aren't even on yet."

Someone needs to take that truck driver and beat the living crap out of him! That Moron could have killed many people the speed he was driving!

But let he had slowed down or hit the brakes the trailor would of jackknifed. (considering that it is very icy on the road) it would of done more damage braking than just letting it coast. As long as he knew where it was headed and his outcomes, then it was safer that way. And if not, then everyone is fucked LOL.

It's just amazing how so many morons with 4wd vehicles think they can defy the laws of physics and drive as fast as they want regardless of weather conditions.  Both of these clowns were very lucky, esp the Evo.  If the Evo was on the right, he would have fared much worse than he did.  I would not call him skilled at all.  Just lucky, this time.

4wheel drive rules!

agree + when it comes to break 4wd doesn't help either

I wouldn't call someone driving that fast in those conditions with low visibility a skilled driver.

but even the car was driving fast, not only the ford and the truck. In this conditions you have to drive very slow. Everybody was speeding there.....

Skilled driver??? Really?? Anyone would of made that move. You see a way out and you take it. The fact that this kid had AWD was just a slight benefit. He or anyone should never be driving that fast on iced roads. The Flex driver just upsets me so much.

tbh if the Flex driver didnt rear end that other car and moved it out of the way, that lorry would have ploughed straight through them and it would have been much worse

Why didn't he go to check if the people in the Flex or the A6 are injured?
"Yeah, it's time to GTFO"
Instead he bails the scene and parks up in later to inspect the cosmetic damage.
Piece of selfish SH!T !!!

Oh, and he is driving too fast on sheet ice with less than 30m of visibility and is later glad to not have crashed cause he had his crashbeam removed order to house a larger intercooler presumably.
"... I don't have a crashbeam lol"
If it is illegal to sell a new car without the beam, it must be illegal to later remove it! AND drive this irresponsibly! Because I don't give a sh!t about him but *when* he crashes he might have unsuspecting passengers!

Well so could most of the other drivers that were going that fast (something VA, DC, MD, and WVA drivers excel at).

Atleast the Semi Driver managed to pilot that rig better than Speed Racer in his Lancer and the other folks.  He didn't hit anything and managed to pull out of the road way.
