Kia Shows More of its All-New Cee'd Hatchback Including the First Shots of the Interior

|

The all-new Kia Cee'd will make its world premiere at the 82nd Geneva International Auto Salon in March but the South Korean automaker wants us to get a better view of its VW Golf rival with the release of another set of photos, which include the very first pictures of its interior.

The car's overall appearance is in line with Kia's latest crop of models and especially the Optima sedan. This is even more evident inside with Kia promising a more premium look and feel, higher perceived quality and enhanced driving position ergonomics.

The dashboard layout features a driver-orientated fascia with the main switchgear positioned towards the driver.

Kia has not yet announced precise dimensions but it said that the new Cee'd is longer, wider and lower than its predecessor, while retaining the same wheelbase.

The engine lineup has not been confirmed but given that the Cee'd is a sister model to Hyundai's new i30, we expect it to be offered with the same 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter diesel and gasoline units at launch in Europe.

Wow, the Koreans are not playing!  The interior is superb, even if the materials are cheap, they are varied enough to be artistically permissible.  The cut out by the driver's side in the lower bin under the center stack is for electrical cords that would normally obstruct the instrument panel.  Very well done.  Compare this to the interior of a basic Golf...or Corolla

Tempting for sure.

Would yoo kidding me? The Koreans produce their cars in Slovakia. Thats the reason why you even buy their cars so cheap in europe. Kia has a designcenter in germany.Kia cars have also (mp3 prepare) integrated in the
Ceed dashbords every version.

Exterior Opel Astra, interior has a mix of VW Golf mk4. I think.

Longer and same wheelbase ? What's the point :(

Kia didn't choose Slovakia to sell their cars cheap, it was many others things, like tax relieve , built quality, political stability in the country, etc... They choose Slovakia over Poland for these reasons, not because of the price...

I like this a lot!!!  I hope this makes it to the USA.  If it does come to the USA, I'll buy it.  And I like that color too.  I hope it comes with a direct injected gas engine.

What will this be called in America? IS this the Forte Hatchback or the new Rio??

john1168 said... »February 16, 2012

I'm guessing Forte.  I'm sure it'll make it to the USA, I just hope Kia does'nt change it.  I like it as is.
