Suzuki's local Indian affiliate, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, reached an important landmark this week with the production of its 10 millionth vehicle in the Indian domestic market.
The milestone model was a red Suzuki Swift that was delivered to customer in Coimbatore from the company’s Manesar assembly plant near New Delhi. The automaker has been active in India since December 1993 and attained 5 million domestic sales in February of 2006.
Maruti Suzuki is the most popular brand in the country as it currently holds a market share of around 50 per cent of all passenger and light commercial vehicles sold across India.
The Alto has been the bestselling model in India over the last seven years. The small city car is produced at the firm's Manesar plant and is also exported to UK, Europe and other global markets.
Suzuki Indian arm recently lifted the covers off the new Swift Dzire, which is a four-door sedan version of the latest generation Swift hatchback with the same wheelbase but with a marginally longer rear overhang that houses one of the tiniest boots (in length) we've ever seen.

This is the ugliest car I have ever seen in my life. The Chinese knock-offs look classy compared to this.
