Nissan SUV Slams Stationary Honda Civic that was Getting Ready to Street Race [NSFW]

|

We're not saying it can't happen, but the last thing you expect to see on an open road at night is two motionless vehicles occupying both regular lanes. Is it that difficult to see that this is something extremely dangerous for all parties involved? Apparently, the answer is yes…

Too bad these drivers had to find out the hard way when an unrelated Nissan SUV slammed into a Honda Civic hatchback that was standing still revving its engine as the owner was preparing to race another Civic on an unnamed road in Tampa, Florida.

The person who uploaded the video said that despite the severity of the crash, -fortunately- no one was hurt. You can watch the accident as it happened in the clip that follows after the break (beware; foul language).

Boy racers who will likely never understand nor ever have the sense and funds to "TAKE IT TO THE TRACK".
Everyone knows that drunks typically follow taillights.

Now that's a twist worthy of M Night Shyamalan

Hmmm.   Drunk driver hits stopped vehicle lined up to drag race on a busy highway.  This should shape up as an interesting battle in the courts.  Accident lawyers, start your engines!!

Was the civic driver ok or he die?

Stupid morons are parked on a highway in both lanes without even their brake lights lit. They are the ones that created an obstacle. Whether the SUV driver was drunk or not, this was the eventual outcome of what they were doing. The racers were at fault IMHO. Good going again Florida.

Well... it was an hwy or whatever used road, not an drag strip, so even when the SUV driver was drunk, it wasn't his fault in the end, but look there, some of they still parked on the road after the crash. Two cars gone wrecked, but maybe at least on driver will be smarter after that!

not much sympathy here. I live on a wide residential street and have to deal with these &^%$'s all the time

If the SUV driver was indeed drunk, then it serves both of them right.   The idiot standing in the middle of the road got lucky.

I totally agree, if you're going to do this kind of thing on an open street with oncoming traffic, you have a couple of people take their cars and park them behind the racers with their headlights facing the oncoming traffic, flashing their brights on and off  to let the oncoming traffic know there's cars stopped in the road.  It's a simple precaution that takes about five minutes to setup, and it would've prevented this awful accident, because even drunks won't keep driving towards flashing brights in their eyes without slowing down.

I see nothing in this video to suggest the driver of the Nissan was drunk and I see ricers being idiots for thinking that nobody would be using a highway as a road and not as a drag strip.

Unless they have a police report to show that the Nissan driver was intoxicated, the ricers are lying so as to downplay the fact that they were responsible for the accident by attempting to drag race on a public road.

 Nice going there, Genious.

Instead of going to a damn track, you put a couple of cars facing the wrong way on a highway flashing their lights on oncoming traffic which is driving at around 60MPH.

That's gonna work out fine.

TAKE IT TO THE TRACK YOU IDIOTS.
