Earlier this month, we showed you the initial building phase of a homemade racing game cockpit designed by YouTube user "Nbjag".
The project has since been completed and we now have the first video of Nbjag's realistic gaming rig that was built around the internals of a first generation, 1990s Opel Astra.
The simulator is based on a wooden frame, to which the builder attached the dashboard, center console, door panels and a section of the roof from an Astra, along with a pair of leather seats sourced from a Jaguar XJ8, to create an ultra realistic environment while playing racing games like the GT5.
A Thrustmaster T500 RS steering wheel with an elongated shaft along with matching pedals and the gated TH8 gearbox, complete the setup.
We won't lie that the build sounds easier said than done...

This is SO cool! Too bad the actual dial don't work but it's just an amazing project!
ok dude, so you can build a car like cockpit, but if you're playing the racing game, should it be a F1 or Nascar or Rally racing cockpit ????
Probably whatever is available and affordable. Looks like he did a great job.
His next step would be to set it up for three screens.
Pay him!
GT5 and a Mk3 Astra, a match made in heaven of Disappointment and Tedium.
Light adjustment is simply GENIUS
Note to self: Airbags for those off-road excursions...
