We get our first look at the updated Hyundai Genesis Coupe for the North American market at last month's Detroit Motor Show and now the South Korean automaker has released details on pricing and specifications before it goes on sale in March.
The 2013 model continues to be available with two engine options, but the new 2.0-liter turbocharged four now produces 274-horses (+64hp) and 275 lb.-ft. (+52 lb-ft) of peak torque, while the 3.8-liter V6 gains direct-injection technology pushing output to 348-horsepower (+42hp) and 295 lb.-ft (+29 lb-ft).
In addition, both engines are now available with an optional eight-speed automatic transmission, while all models benefit from a re-tuned suspension.
The 2013MY Genesis Coupe also gains a new front fascia, a hood with heat extractors, modified LED taillights and a new rear wing, plus a redesigned center console and updated interior trim.
Prices start at $24,250 for the 2.0T model and $28,750 for the 3.8-liter R-Spec, which rise to $25,125 and $29,625 respectively if you include an $875 delivery and handling fee. For more details on pricing, check out the list that follows below.

The article should note that it's about a $2000 price increase across the board.
I had hoped they would knock it out of the park with the new model, as I was considering purchasing one. But once I saw that front end, and those fake hood vents, I changed my mind.
Good price...still faster than a V-6 Camaro or mustang.
Definitely a great car behind that disgusting front face!
Treat it like a two bagger and by a bra
The nose is too busy =/
Yeah, it's kind of ugly. But look how far they've come since the first generation Tiburon.
It should win the battle against the V-6 American pony cars, But it'll be interesting to see how it does on a track against the Mustang GT, etc.
that front is so retarded! looks like the car is wearing a mouthguard. shame coz the rest of the design is nice.
Prices are up substantially, with minimal content enhancement. Some of this reflects adjustments for the value of the US dollar.
How many companies offer a 64hp increase for the mid-cycle update? Add that to the 8-speed auto (up from 6) and suspension, styling, and interior revisions, and I'd hardly call it minimal content. It's still a great deal at $25k and likely a direct price competitor to the coming 200hp Scion FR-S.
As one who on campaigned directly with Hyundai for the 270+ Hp engine, I appreciate the Hp increase. The rest _revisions_ is refinement of the product, not additional content. The new Automatic is an option/model(?)and priced accordingly from base 'Manual' pricing.
The new price points are a concern for me because this cars has yet to gain traction in the NA markets. Part of this is due to debatable marketing, the rest is due to the great pricing of it's direct domestic NA competitors.
The new pricing is still quite good for the content, but with a 323 Hp 2012 Camaro available for $23,280 with near similar build configuration, and the Genesis V-6 at $28,750 will give even those inclined to buy a Genesis Coupe...Pause, when considering the $5,500 difference
The FRS is going to be starting at $27500. ( I have ordered a black one ) Have been told to expect it by June 1. With that in mind, you are getting a larger quicker car with the Genesis for less money. I was going to get one but must admit I actually prefer the sure to be more nimble FRS. Both choices are excellent.
The price in Canada for the base 2.0 is $28,200!! The 3.8 starts at $38,700!!!! The bump up is ridiculous... I'm going to be looking at the BRZ/FRS now or even the Mustang which would be loaded at this price. Disappointing.
