Any new Ferrari model is fast, but in today's world, the Prancing Horse brand is not the only automaker building rockets on wheels.
Of course, there are various definitions of fast (top speed, acceleration, circuit laps etc) but in this video we have a stock Ferrari 458 Italia with 570-ponies under its mid-mounted bonnet taking on three tuned models, including a 750HP Audi RS6 Evotech, a 600HP Nissan GT-R AMS and a 750HP Corvette ZR1 C6 Lingenfelter, on a 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) run.
See how it went down in the video that follows after the break.

Godzilla's got legs and that Vette was fast as hell. I would have like to have seen those two go toe to toe.
Are we sure that Audi had 750hp??? Or did all that horsepower bring on a ton of weight with it?
I think they could've squeezed a third car in that lane for extra thrill :D
1st place: Lingenfelter (field development in Danish:) Corvette 27.95secs
2nd place: Nissan GT-R 28.16secs
3rd place: Ferrari 458 28.95secs
4th place: Audi RS6 29.217secs
Real first place is the Audi. The others can only carry 2 people while going that fast.
The GTR is a four seater too, and faster!
The all round winner for me is either the 458 or GT-R. Both would be perfect in every day life and for the track.
Screw the family, my kids can stay at home.... i even don't have kids. Leave something at home anyway.
Something is definitely not right with that Audi, it should have been easily able to jump the Ferrari off the line, and end even if it didn't with 750 hp it should've easily been able to reel the the Ferrari in without any problem. Either there is an engine issue, or something isn't right with the traction control, preventing the power from getting to the wheels.
Audi is the company that really needs to step up to Nissan's challenge, since their Quattro system was once king of the all-wheel drive category. Mitsubishi and Nissan seemed to have left them behind in the area of outright performance.
audi is crap over rated junk... the so called quattro struggle in any weather the traction control eats all the power just like all germen cars, regardless of whether they are manufacturer tuned or aftermarket.
launch control for gtr makes it a winner
Don't look Godzilla's power... look for it engineering /
the GT-R is a 4 seater
And now please compare Ferrari with those same cars but in original versions without modifications:)
The Ferrari would still catch fire.
The Ferrari is about a lot more then a timed blast down a straight mile. Lets poll the drivers after a romp down the Amalfi coast to find out which car they would like to repeat the trip in.
Alright guy's, time for a nap. Audi is the straight winner! It's a damn sedan for crying out loud, and it still pulls the way it does. In my opinion (and I'm sure millions more) the RS6 is the greatest sedan ever built. Yes that rice rocket GT-R is a four seated, but it's not a four door vehicle. We're talking about throwing a lot more weight on the RS6. All the others are coupes! And no, no one's caught up to Audi's quattro® and none of these other weak companies ever will! Every maker makes a fast vehicle, it's up to us to go with whatever we want! I'll take Audi over any of these other chumps! Throw an RS4 with a VF badge in there and then come back for a repost!
GT-R is allround car. Very precise. It may be only Super car or LFA /
GT-R owned.... Corvette owned..... shoulda did those two against each other.
The corvette transporter is the real first place because it can carry 5 people and a car.
Ferrari all the way. Nissan and Corvette never gonna be like Ferrari
You guys realize that the Ferrari is the only car that hasn't been modified and it really comes down to power to weight ratio:
Ferrari (Stock) 570 ponies
Audi RS6 (Tuner - Evotech) - 750 ponies
Nissan GT-R (Tuner - AMS Stage 1) - 600 ponies
Corvette ZR1 C6 (Tuner - Lingenfelter) - 750 ponies
I'd choose the Ferrari if it was based on it's heritage, looks, and visceral sound.
I'd choose the Audi if it was based on it's low profile and business car sense.
I'd choose the Nissan GT-R if it was based on it's crazy no-nonsense "Got to get up and go factor".
I'd choose the Corvette if it was based on it's American muscle.
Question is: Can the Nissan and the Corvette beat a Ferrari with the same horsepower (600 and 750 respectively)?
1. I think it will be close against the Nissan with the same horsepower but Nissan will still win with its AWD system.
2. I think it will beat the Corvette with the same horsepower since it has a racing heritage and because it will be able to put the power to the ground better than the Vette.
In regards to the Audi, this car primary purpose is a lux sedan...it's design doesn't come from a racing background. It's saddled by too much steel and a heavy AWD system it never had a chance against these true speed demons. The only way for it to have a chance is the remove everything and put in a Recardo seat and replace the majority of the body panels with carbon fiber - then it might have a chance.
Any of these cars are great in their own right...just depends on your flavor.
