In Chevrolet's recent Super Bowl ad, which was set in a post-apocalyptic world, a bunch of friends chose to drive the Detroit brand's Silverado pickup truck, sans one Dave, God rest his soul, who drove a Ford F-150 - we didn't say it, GM did.
In the dystopian future world of Mad Max, The Man with No Name chose a supercharged Ford Falcon XB GT351 for his transportation needs.
In a similar scenario, the crew over at Popular Mechanics came up with a list of 10 vehicles that they would want as their "trusty steed" if the world went berserk.
Here are their choices:
Paramount Marauder
Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ
Toyota Hilux, Fourth Generation
Honda Dream Solar Car
Subaru Impreza WRX Hatchback
Volkswagen Microbus
Buick Roadmaster Wagon
Porsche 911 Carrera S
Jeep Wrangler
Local Motors Rally Fighter
So the question of the day is if the world and society as we know it collapsed and you could get any type of vehicle, what would you choose? Would it be something reliable or rough'n'tough? Or perhaps you'd like to have a last dance with the fastest ride you could get your hands on?

Learned from the Top Gear Apocalypse DVD, I would prefer using my last barrel of petrol on earth on cars such as the Bowler Nemesis, the original Mini, the Pontiac GTO, the Ferrari F40, the Porsche 911 GT3 or the Aston Martin V12 Vantage! ^^
Toyota hands down. If your vehicle dies, you die. Toyota's don't die.
Paramount Marauder would be perfect for running over anything in the city as shown on Top Gear.
I would like a kick @$$ truck like a Ford Raptor or a Black Cadillac Escalade with a snow plow on the front and a "3" painted on the side (Zombieland) but.... Since there won't be a whole lot of gas or other resources I might want something more fuel efficient but still have all wheel drive. A non turbo Subaru Outback or Ford Escape or Chevy Equinox or a small hybrid suv...
Koenigsegg CCX. The mayhem won't be fast enough to catch me. :)
Until you run out of fuel.
See you on the side of the road.
I think Jalopnik, among others, have already covered this topic ad nauseam.
Hummer if theres alot of gas
Chevy 3500 is theres deisel
Prius if theres a little gas
Tesla S if theres no gas
Tesla if no gas.
Mercedes g wagon
My first choice would be a land cruiser. Since it did not make it to the list, i would happily drive a hilux!
You must drive a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 to survive.
I don't know about the gas... but it sure does let you get away from from disasters.
proof of that is this.......... LOL

knight xv .
VW 'Thing'. And a 50' Chev Pickup
Human lives would be the loss so there wont be anybody aroundto consume the fuel reserves, and whoever survives (just a bunch of people) would have billions of barrels of fuel, no worries... I take a lifted GMC Sierra 3500HD...
A Tesla. (to prevent it's getting even worse on earth)
Range Rover or something that will do plenty of MPG.
I'm thinking Jeep Wrangler. Early models, without computers, easy to work on. For that matter, any pre-computer auto.
Lancia Delta HF Integrale Grupo A
1974 Ford Falcon XB sedan with a 351 c.i.d. Cleveland V8 and on demand supercharger.
and a dingo?
to put up your ass.
Hilux
2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland summit
Ride over and threw the rubbish in comfort.
Either Knight XV or Dartz Prombron. After all i'm sure there will be plenty of dead whales with penises I can use and no Green Peace complaining. It's a Win-win situation.
